I'm running for the office of Governor in New Jersey. This run is my way of constantly presenting the issue of marijuana legalization as a political issue in New Jersey. I wear shirts with marijuana slogan on them all the time. On the backs of all my shirts is this: THE LEGALIZE MARIJUANA PARTY www.tlmp.org ..
On May 11th a New Jersey state trooper working the front door of the State building flipped out and attacked me. He wouldn't allow me to enter the building because of my shirt. My shirt is the protected free speech and when I told him so he started making up lie's about why I couldn't enter. Eventually he gave me a ultimatium leave or be arrested. I told him to arrest me because I wasn't leaving.
He arrested me. After I was arrested he kicked me and chocked me while I was hand-cuffed. Another officer kicked me in the BALLS.

NJ Weedman faces trespassing charges
Thursday, May 12, 2005
TRENTON - Edward Forchion, the Pemberton Township resident and marijuana proponent better known by the self-ascribed moniker NJ Weedman, was arrested inside the State House building yesterday afternoon on his way to tell news reporters about his intention to run for governor, officials said.
Forchion, 40, of Browns Mills, never got past the New Jersey State Police troopers who guard the State House complex. Troopers arrested Forchion after he refused to leave the building after being told press row was not open to the public, state police spokesman Sgt. Gerald Lewis said.
He was charged with resisting, defiant trespass and improper behavior.
Although the state police say press row is not a publicly accessible area, State House-based reporters say that members of the public routinely visit the area to pitch stories.
Forchion's fight to legalize marijuana on Rastafarian religious grounds has taken him to several arenas in the past decade, from running for a number of political offices, including Congress, to firing up marijuana s in public.
In March 2000, Forchion smoked marijuana in the State House's Assembly chambers during a session and was arrested by state troopers.
Forchion was being held last night on $40,000 bail at the Trenton Police Department lockup

Brother NJ,
As you know, the majority of the public suffers under the delusion that the government exists on their behalf. This they believe despite all evidences. They're simply too frightened and confused to come to grips with the fact that government is most often parasitical and tyrannical.
This country hasn't been about "democracy" for over 150 years...
There is no political solution to modern ills. The only viable and long term solution to social/international problems is the expansion of consciousness of the people. Without this solution, ANY form of government or enlightened policy is doomed to failure. With this solution in place, it doesn't matter in the slightest who is "in office" or under what government enlightened people live.
The ultimate government, however, is self government. This too hinges squarely upon the consciousness of any given individual...
Best to you, Brother. _________________ The World Mind Society http://www.eoni.com/~visionquest |

| Unfortunately, all the police have to claim is they felt threatened and everything they do is justified. He was origianally detained on $40,000 bond. 24 hours later the bail was reduced to $1000 after a judge considered the facts. I wonder if he can sue for getting beat-up for no reason. |

It deeply troubles me about how many lives have been ruined from our government lying about The Holy Sacrement. It saddens when I think that there are other less fortunate peoples throughout the world literally following the so called "example" our goverment precipitates in setting forth. They are not justice, how is it that child rapists and murders are ever let out of prison while men who have done service in the name of God are given life sentences and in other countries are even executed.
This countries government should lower it's flags in shame. |

Hello Ed and friends,
Aloha. How's it going NOW? I'm sorry to hear of your altercation with the police and I wish you a speedy and full recovery.
Ed, I love you, bro! We have a (small) history of mutual support for each other and our shared cause going back at least a decade, or so. I was raised in New Jersey and used to ba a "punk from Jersey", or so they say. I can relate to much of who you are and what you're 'up to', or at least I think I can. I respect you and admire your passion and your 'balls'. As a cannabis brother and an activist colleague, I want you to succeed totally.
As a continually-practicing metaphysician I'm playing what some of us call "the responsibility game" here and now. It's a kick, no pun intended. :-}
What's it about? To be brief, it's about me being "responsible" for EVERYTHING in my universe; good, bad or whatever. Huh? It's not necessarily 'true', it's just the coolest game in my head to play. It always helps me to put my life in a more powerful place to come from.
Trust me, I've tried other 'realities' and this one rocks me the best. I used to try blaming others for the results in my life. Why did 'they' do that to me? etc. I found it weak and ineffective, over and over again and not true. Enough!
OK, "Grasshopper", check this out from your higher mind.
In this situation of NJ-Weedman's, I recommend that you, Ed, ask yourself, "what did I do that caused those cops to do that to me?" Yes, really.
But "they" obviously did it to me! That's how it looks on the surface, true. But there's a deeper reality to explore that's SO much more satisfying, in my not-so-humble opinion. Try it on for size, bro.
"Did I enter the Capitol with an attitude of silent, but powerful, "fuck you" confrontation in my conscious or unconscious mind?"
"Was I non-verbally abusive to them BEFORE they hit me?"
"Do I secretly or not-so-secretly 'hate' all cops?"
"Was I looking for yet another 'victim' story to prove my point that the cops are out to get me just for 'weed'?" "I'm innocent, your Honor, I swear!" Right.
It's a start. See what I mean? It's not about judgement, it's about INTENTION and the power of your mind and emotions.
I have found this way of thinking to assist me greatly in life. Now I'm in charge of my reality, not some knucklehead down the street or the next cop with a grudge to bear. This is now MY universe. I own it, I live it, I love it!
That piece of trash I see on the street that I used to pretend to ignore? I pick it up now because it's cluttering-up the movie-set of my life.
That homeless guy or girl? I always reach out to help them now because they're in MY movie. I'm the Director with a capitol "D" and everyone is an actor. It's MY 'play'.
Want to even take this game 'up' a notch? Try this: I'm even 'responsible' for what someone ELSE in my universe does to someone ELSE. Second party to third party!
That couple fighting outside the restaurant you're visiting? What inside of YOU caused them to do that to each other? Anything? It's worth taking a look at, and many times I see that what I'm feeling and thinking - possibly - spills-over to other people's lives. That's a higher-stakes poker game of life, for sure. I don't know if this even makes any sense to you, Ed, but as a brother I needed to share it with you, just in case. Why? Because I want you to be as fully amazing here on this planet as I know you're capable of. You're one cool dude, my man. Take it higher and see what you think and feel about it from 'there'. Mahalo and aloha.
Much love and respect,
Roger
P.S. I hope to pick you up at the Hilo airport one day and show you around my island home.

Roger,
You know I respect everything you do and have followed you for the last 10 years or so as well, BUT......
I was in a good mood and didn't realize this guy had lost his cool until it was too late! I was only going to be in the building for about 5 minutes. I was only going to drop off a PRESS RELEASE in the inboxes of the state's media outlets, a feat I've done dozens of times without incident. This guy was new to the "capital security team" and flipped out about my shirt. I really don't need the ZEN philos..
When his call for assistance was answered all the cops who came running were cops I had been small talking to for years. It was this GOOSE STEPPING WACKO that caused this. The Police know it, the Judge's know it and the public knows it.
This cop is now in CYA mode.
PS- I'd love to bring my wife to Hawaii oneday, if I ever do I'll be sure to ask you to pick us up at the airport and re-marry us as well. (After a few burns)
P.S. - GOD loves us all even puny minded state troopers.

I really like this article by the DRUG WAR CHRONICLE, "except" the term "WILD MAN" but I'm happy they covered it!!! This was an attack plan and simple.
____________________________________________________
Free Speech: NJ Weedman Arrested at Statehouse Over Pot Leaf T-Shirt 5/20/05
SEE: http://stopthedrugwar.org/chronicle/387/forchion.shtml
Veteran wild man marijuana activist Ed Forchion, better known as the New Jersey Weedman was arrested May 11 by New Jersey State Troopers as he attempted to enter the state capitol building in Trenton to deliver a press release to reporters in the building's press row. Forchion, who is running for governor as head of the Legalize Marijuana Party of South Jersey, was wearing a t-shirt emblazoned with the slogan "Legalize Cannabis," and that was apparently too much for State Trooper Robert Rasinsky, who, according to Forchion, "took offense" at the shirt, told him he could not enter the building, then arrested him when he insisted he could.
Ed Forchion's censored TV ad
According to Forchion, it is common practice for interested parties to distribute press releases to the capitol's press row. "I've gone to press row dozens of times delivering press releases without incident," he said in a statement released after his arrest.
Forchion's account of press row's accessibility was backed up by the Times of Trenton. "Although the state police say press row is not a publicly accessible area, State House-based reporters say that members of the public routinely visit the area to pitch stories," the paper reported in its story on the incident.
According to Forchion, Trooper Rasinsky "falsely claimed the building was not open to the public and refused to allow me to pass. When I insisted that the building was public and I had every right as a state citizen to enter this building, Trooper Rasinsky hand-cuffed me behind my back and began to choke me by placing both hands around the front of my neck. As I struggled against this attack, the struggle was joined by another unnamed trooper who ended the melee with a swift kick to my groin."
State troopers, unsurprisingly, had a different take on events. "He actually came to the front entrance, signed in and asked to be allowed to go to press row to hand out fliers," state police spokesman Sgt. Gary Lewis told the Trentonian. "Troopers told him that the public is not allowed to access the area. The officers asked him if they could call someone to come and meet him and he refused."
Forchion was arrested on charges on resisting arrest, "defiant trespass," and "improper behavior." Bail was originally set at $40,000, but was reduced to $1,000, which Forchion was able to make.
The troopers are in "cover your ass" mode, over what amounted to arresting him because they didn't like his t-shirt, Forchion said. "The marijuana leaf is the symbol of my political party, no different than the elephant or the donkey of the Republican and Democratic parties. I have a right to express my political allegiance and views. Could you imagine the press reports of this attack had it happened to a Democrat or Republican? I did nothing wrong! I was simply expressing myself while on the way to the press. I can't believe the press has failed to report this story accurately! I was attacked!"
Run-ins with the law over marijuana and free speech are nothing new to the 40-year-old Forchion. After being arrested with more than 40 pounds of pot in 1997, Forchion got seriously active, running for a number of political offices. In March 2000, he was arrested for smoking marijuana in the State Assembly chambers during a session. After serving 17 months in prison over the 1997 bust, Forchion was released on parole in 2002, but then jailed for five months by parole authorities after producing a marijuana reform TV commercial that never ran. It took a federal judge to set him free that time.
Forchion isn't going to let another hassle at the hands of the authorities stop him, but he has expressed displeasure at the lack of support from other drug reformers. "This is just another example of that fact that I'm just a nigger with a big mouth to many white authorities," he said. "Things like this don't happen to white activists. There is no white activist in the country who has been jailed simply for wearing a t-shirt with his or her political opinion on it, yet the mainstream reform groups say virtually nothing about my constant abuse at the hands of state officials. I can't believe this happened to me because I'm just another nigger to many," he said, adding that he just may move to have his name legally changed to "Just a Nigger."
Forchion certainly can't be accused of mincing words -- his campaign slogan this year is "Fuck the Law, Smoke it Anyway." _________________ I was jailed by the State of New Jersey for making political ad's that called for the "end of the drug war": http://www.njweedman.com/censorship |

By the way, how about changing that screen name of yours, for starters. Get out of the 'casket', OK? Thanks! :-}
