just wanted to share something with everyone that i recently found regarding Buddhism. of the five main precepts, the last one is not to use intoxicants. i was curious as to how this related to the sacrament, so i read a few other translations, one which said "distilled intoxicants" i.e. alcohol, and the other which appended "so as not to lose mindfulness." so it's looking like the herb and buddhism are rather in line with one another, as it definitely increases mindfulness. then i discovered that buddhists have been using it for centuries, although quietly so as to avoid problems with the law. neat, eh?
