My sacramental package arrived this morning. Just in time, too, since tonight is my first sunset mass.
A few days ago, as if to prepare me for the services that lay ahead--I got fired from my job.
It was then that I realized I had no choice but to move my plans up to have a sunset service as well as sunrise--since I wasn't making much during the sunrise.
Last night, I handed out fliers to a few people to get the word out...and tonight, for the first time, I'll be hosting a sunset drum-circle.
I have no idea who or if anyone will show up--though something tells me I have *something* that will appeal people to enough people to bring them there.
Since this is my first time actually using the paperwork...it would be handy to have a few more local THC-Minsters show up every now and then to help me out.
If you're in or passing through my diocese at any time, please drop me a line and I'll tell you how to get to us.

Just out of interest what excactly are you planning on doing at your services and what is a drum-role. I'm asking as it may well be worth other ministers following your lead??
Is it purely religious biased and is it a particular religion you will be biased toward?
Will you be educating those that turn up of their human rights such as their right to religion/belief.
The United Nations Declaration of Human Rights Article 18, "Everyone has the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion; this right includes freedom to change his religion or belief and freedom, either alone or in community with others and in public or private, to manifest his religion or belief, in worship, teaching, practice and observance."
Their right to privacy within the home?
Any info would be gratefully received. _________________ http://www.cannabis-assembly.co.uk |

Is deeply rooted in shamanic and tribal practices--performance art as a form of spiritual expression.
A drum circle is when everyone gets together with a drum and plays music and dances. Some churches have choirs, I have a drum circle.
I have set up the non-profit specificly to keep drum circle supplied with food, shelter and transportation during church functions. So we can do field trips and pilgrimages.
We celebrate the sunrise and sunset with a drum circle Monday-Friday--when the weather is good. And when the weather is bad, I'm going to try to do things like trips to the movies and the zoo. Maybe even a congregation game night--the possibilities are endless.
My services are all about how the partaking of cannabis aides in the joyful appreciation of life and community spirit. Everything my congregation does (will do) will be fully volunteer and donation driven, as I am the only official member of my ministry.
During the day, my aim is to teach dance, music, art, spirituality and metaphysics. At night, we host drum circle to collect donations for the church.
Financial donations will finance all church functions as well as legal assistance to those who require it. And donations of leaf and seed will be rolled into satchets and distributed to the terminally ill.

Pateticus, I am reading just now about your initiative and a few days have passed since then. How did things go? _________________

That's what I keep telling myself...Baby steps...
In planning something like this, it's difficult to not picture oneself instantly surrounded by music and lots of people willing to donate.
The past few weeks have been pretty tame...handing out a lot of free food but not getting any donations...and it's because I haven't found a steady congregation of artists and musicians to hang out with yet...
I have my friends, who stop by every now and again...but what I'm really looking for is a steady flow of starving artists that need a comfy place to eat, play and toke.
I have my Ministry name on all the drum-circle emailing lists and with a few local bands. I'm supposed to meet another one tonight, as a matter of fact.
I've also opened a dialogue with a local drummer who also makes and repairs drums. I'm hoping he'll set up a booth next to me and make enough noise to attract people...
It's like I was telling a friend today...music and nature are universal constants, they'll always be around regardless of the legal state of cannabis.
Putting a universal first in your priorities takes time because all the clutter has to be taken out of your life first. The delay in growth is giving me a chance to work all the kinks out of the routine and do some thinking I hadn't had a chance to do.
Once that universal takes over, though, it gathers a momentum and before you know it...you're miles away from home and not worried about making your way back.
I have a good feeling about this, it's just a matter of time and patience.
BTW...if anyone wants another suggestion (and I *almost* went through with this over the weekend, but I want to have more people with me when I do it...)
If one of us were to lease a beer tap at a bar, under the 1st amendment rights, pot would be legal to consume (so long as it's free) within the bar for the duration of the lease, since our religious function is renting the bar to generate donations by ministering our belief.
I've seen this done one of two ways--either the bar owner leases the tap and sells hard liquor at full price. The price of beer goes down to $1 a serving and the charity in question gets a percentage of what's collected.
Or, the owner decides to tap the beer so much per serving, donating a portion to said charity.
Either one would work in our case and generate a pretty good income for the bar as well.
It's just a matter of finding the right bar and owner...

That sounds exciting. I have a friend in Ohio and I know that if you were anywhere in her vicinity she would try and make it, _________________
