Hello friends,
Aloha. This is terrific news at a local, grassroots level of activism. Congratulations to all those who worked to get this local ballot measure approved by the town Council. Mahalo for your good example.
All the best,
Roger

Dear MINORML Members,
I'm honored to report that the Flint City Council submitted a resolution 9-0 to put our Medical Marijuana Initiative on the February 27, 2007 ballot.
Brian Morrissey, Tim Beck, and myself were in attendance for this evening's meeting. Brian courageously delivered a short history of our
accomplishments concerning Detroit, Ann Arbor, Ferndale, and Traverse City and also the other 11 states and the wide range of support medical marijuana has attained. I attempted to put a "real face" on the Flint Coalition for Compassionate Care by delivering an address outlining my chronic illness (Nail Patella Syndrome) and the inconsistencies that lie in the fact that the Federal Government provides 300 marijuana cigarettes a month for George McMahon who also suffers from the same disease.
The council members complimented Brian and showed interest in my address by requesting copies of the talk I had compiled. All in all the environment was friendly with no seeming opposition despite a long row of individuals with a wide range of other complaints. In fact, there was even cheers when the council followed their obligations, according to the charter, by voting to pass their resolution to put our initiative on the Feb. ballot.
It appears from my analysis that the council's decision to put our initiative on the Feb. ballot was not sinister by no means and it appears that we have an overwhelming amount of support concerning our issue.
We still have to meet with the elections committee to finalize the ballot language, yet that appears to be going in the right direction, and judging by attendance of the last meeting, the language is appearing to be favorable on our part.
Peace,
Charles Snyder III
