I've been fallowing HalfDead's threads and I have seem to notice that many of you avoid an honest simple answer as to why we support mark emery and norml as exploiters. I noticed after one of his posts you imediatly changed the topic to fish ( http://thc-ministry.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=3575#3575 )... Stop avoiding the questions no matter how simple or trivial they seem... As a good person you shouldnt shun any 1 for asking a question there has never been a bad question just bad answers... As for my questions I am still skeptical not entirely but I have yet to find the answers I desire...

This is the questions and facts forum isnt it? Well I have lots of questions and not the time to sift through nonsence to find the answers.

If you see a question dont tell me to sift dont tell any one to sift they are already sifting obviously other wise they wouldnt be asking questions if you dont have an answer to their question dont post anything we dont want to read through 8 replys of utter nonsence its just makes finding the answers near impossible and makes many want to give up...

HalfDead has turned away from our ministry now as result to your non compliance to remove exploiters links on the ministry's web pages. I believe we have lost a great warrior due to our noncompliance to remove those links... I dont think we should change every time some one disagrees with something we do but... I do believe we should not support exploiters of the Marijuana community... I can Understand having NORML Links but there is realy no need to have them premanently tagged on to our ministry webpages if some one needs information that can be obtained from a NORML website it only takes 2 seconds to refer them via a post on a thread so take the NORML links off.... As for links pertaining to Mark Emery and his affiliates what for why are they there if some one wants to buy something from Mark (the nark) then they can seek him out on there own time there is no need to have these links....

My faith has always been in the plant from the day I first had the chance to enjoy it or gain knoledge from it... I have always believed in our sacred plant's ways of healing and mending of the soul... All before I ever knew about the THC Ministry or religion of any kind I've always believed... I've always had faith in the plant... Dont dither my path to pure enlightenment and all my motivation to help through the eyes of this ministry I want to help even if I dont believe in GOD I believe in something I cant put it in words... But I want to help all even if they do not deserve the help I will help...

Half dead has no question. Laughing

He just visits the various cannabis related sites and forums and sings his one angry song.

If it behooves you to spend time on him, have at it.

(You should go back and re-read that thread. I think you've missed out on something..)

What do I have to tell him that he wants to hear?

"Follow Your Bliss...?? Ain't got none. He's just got an ax to grind, and he does it well. Blessings on him.

My time is precious. He doesn't make my to do list. If your Inner Being is prompting you to address him, hey....

Follow Your Bliss,
Ben

Im glad to hear you have lots of questions...So did I when I first looked into this. If you dont have time to sift through the nonsense to get some of your answers, I dont think you are ready to ask the question.....Its unfair for you to expect to be treated differently than anyone else. We are responsible for finding our own answers...no one here owes you one.

We will continue to tell people to 'sift', because its NOT TRUE that people "must be already sifting obviously other wise they wouldnt be asking questions"....Thats nonsense. LOTS of people ask questions without so much as checking the main FAQ page, happens all the time.
We will post what we feel is appropriate, even if it doesnt meet your specifications of an "answer".

If people get tired of searching for the answers to their questions here, and they give up, it is meant to be. When it means enough to you, I feel you make it your job to educate yourself, instead of waiting to be spoon-fed answers.

Our non-compliance? This Ministry is not run on the whims or demands of one member, we are a society. We do not take demands from members, simply because they think its a good idea. If you wish to see some sort of change take place, it should be addressed through the proper channels, with the proper respect for the folks involved. Once you do that, it will either be changed, or it wont.....At that point you can decide what you want to do with it.

I'm the one that told halfdead that I had bigger fish to fry....

I read his stuff and dismissed it as a lower priority for me to watch although he does make some valid points.

I'm in TCM and don't have the time to get all hot and bothered about his points...As Mystic said, if he wants to crusade for the NORML thing he should do so, and if you want to do that, go ahead.

I just don't see your justification for berating the board because we didn't get on the bandwagon, just yet.

I almost never make "snap" judgements without alot of thinking and study...that takes some time and, like the Martian 'old ones' in "Stranger in a Strange Land", I might take a few weeks/months/ years/millenia to examine the problem.

Smile

Brother Joe,

I think this is a perfect example of what we were talking about earlier: focusing on what one is against, instead of what one is for.....to the point of blindness. Shocked

Too true, too true...Smile As usual Bro. Rodger you're right on the money!

DOS, why don't you do your own study of the NORML 'debacle' and post it?

I'd be interested in getting a different point of view, to be honest.

Maybe in a synopsis form.

I think it'd be well worth your time fbo all of us.

A textbook example, Rev. Poole.

Why should we seek to do Emery or NORML any kind of injustice when they have done none to us? Who know's ... we may need their help some day.

Who would eliminate that possibility in exchange for the sheer contempt that comes with falsely judging another?

I suppose that it would be the same kind of person who's not willing to 'Sift' for what it is that they want out of life.

I've had dealings with Marc over the years...I've known him to do some absolutely wonderful things and I've seen him make some questionable decisions...and I've certainly had my share of disagreements with him.

So...welcome to the human race.

But I don't know that he's done anything that HalfDead claims, and I have no idea who HalfDead is or what he's done or not done.

If there's a problem with NORML, then, hey....don't send 'em any money. That's how that works.

I don't think HalfDead's going anywhere. He's just busy elsewhere at the moment...I really don't think an angry, offensive minister is anything we need... Laughing

Bliss,
Ben

I have seen brother Ben go to great length to sift for you DOS! Even after pointed you in the right direction.

I guess you sift depending on how much value you place on your freedom.

Furthermore Dan Viets of Norml in Columbia Missouri. Well hes a green warrior and a half. He made big head way last yr and got it decriminalised and for medical in a town not a state. Thats a David annd Goliath story there. He is still fighting for us! Furthermore the Missouri THC Ministry has ask Mr Viets to be our attorny. He agreed.

I wasnt particulrly happy with a statement St Pierre made about the ministry. But that doesnt cloud what Mr Viets has done.

Proposal Targets Lenient Pot Laws
A proposal would ban public school athletic meets in Columbia
Columbia Missourian; January 20, 2005

JEFFERSON CITY -- Columbia will pay a price for easing restrictions on marijuana prosecutions under a bill proposed by a St. Charles legislator.

Republican State Sen. Chuck Gross proposed legislation Wednesday that would prohibit public schools from holding athletic tournaments in Columbia.

Gross' proposal comes in response to two measures the city's voters approved in November. One makes marijuana arrests the lowest priority of city law enforcement, and the other allows marijuana to be used in the city for medical reasons.

The legislation proposed by Gross would bar schools that receive state money from participating in "sporting events or athletic tournaments" in cities with marijuana laws similar to Columbia's.

The intent is not to prohibit Columbia schools from taking part in sports but to block regional or state tournaments from being held in the city, Gross said.

"I think it's a bad message to send off to kids -- 'Hey, come to Columbia, you can bring your pot with you,'" Gross said.

Athletic tournaments are big business for Columbia. Chamber of Commerce President Don Laird said he doubts the bill will become law. He said sports tournaments generate millions of dollars in economic activity for Columbia.

"Those types of things are very important to us," Laird said. "It would be very damaging to Columbia."

Laird said the proposal is the first potential economic fallout he is aware of as a result of the pot measures passing.

Ed Baker, a member of the Columbia Convention and Visitors Bureau Advisory Board, said the economic impact of the bill would be devastating to both tourism and retail sales in Columbia.

The state basketball tournament brings nearly $3 million a year to Columbia and the state wrestling tournament more than $1 million. In total, high school activities generate $5 million in economic impact for the city every year, said Lorah Steiner, executive director the Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Steiner said she won't comment on Gross' bill until she reads it.

Dan Viets, a Columbia attorney and leading proponent of the new marijuana policies, called the bill "mean-spirited" but said he's not worried.

"I think what he's targeted is every school district in the state of Missouri," Viets said. "I feel sorry for the kids that might lose their opportunity to do what they want to do."

Baker said he can't judge the senator's intention or whether the bill is right or wrong but said there might be a "higher good."

"The bill might make Columbia people take a second look at their stance or repeal the new law," Baker said. "He might think we send the wrong message to children, like holding a little bit of marijuana will be OK."

Columbia voters overwhelmingly approved the two marijuana initiatives on Nov. 2. One requires that arrests for possession of less than 35 grams of pot be handled in municipal court rather than state court. The maximum penalty is a $250 fine with no jail time. In state court, the same charge packs a $1,000 fine and a year in jail.

The other ordinance allows seriously ill patients, with their doctors' permission, to use marijuana.

No other Missouri community has anything similar on the books, and marijuana possession remains a state crime.

Positivity Training; the Book
Feel good, not not bad

You can learn to feel more good feelings more often and more deeply.

You can learn to have more intense positive experiences more often.

Good feelings and positive experiences are the most important, most valuable parts of your life. Period. Teaching health care providers how to use positive experience training with patients or students, I've stated this basic premise to thousands of physicians, psychologists, nurses, treachers social workers. I challenge them to dispute it. No-one has ever disagreed! Many come up to me at the end of a seminar to tell me, "I can't wait to start using this with my patients . But I'm going to start applying it to myself first." They use it to enhance their lives-- not to fix problems.

Positive experiences and the good feelings which connect them to you mentally, physically and emotionally are your most valuable assets. Your self esteem, positive attitude and ability to be happy and enjoy life all flow from these essential building blocks. But they can trickle or surge, depending on your PE skills. Wisdom dictates we learn more about PEs and good feelings so we can master them. My experience has taught me that anyone can learn and enhance these skills.

Mmmmmm Ooooooo (as in boo) and Ahhhhhhhh.

Good feelings and positive experiences are the most important parts of people's lives. They are what we work and struggle for, fight for and dream about. Smile and think about some positive experiences you've had which gave you good feelings. Make a few `feeling good' sounds; Mmmmmmm, Ooooh, Aaaahhhhh. Smile bigger and make the sounds louder. Do it a third time-- smile, mmm, ooooh, ahhh.

Did you feel any good feelings just from recalling a good experience or smiling or making a feeling good sound? If you did, then you've experienced a demonstration of how it's possible to turn on good feelings out of the blue. If you didn't, you're among the approximately 50% of the population who in some or all circumstances holds back feeling and or expressing positive emotions. If the exercise didn't turn on any good feelings, this book will teach you many specific techniques and strategies to learn to feel more good feelings, to feel better than you do now.

If the exercise did turn on good feelings for you, you can probably benefit even more from the techniques and strategies you'll learn in this book.

In sports or the arts, some people have natural talents. Others need considerable training to develop barely passable abilities. Some folks start off as "naturals" and when they receive training, it helps them to soar that much higher-- to fine tune their natural abilities. Teach a natural athlete a new throw or serve or swing and he or she will pick it up right away and add it as a new tool to his bag of tricks. Less talented people need the same training even more, but they don't pick up the skills as fast.

The same is true for good feelings and positive experiences. Some people are naturally cheerful and happy, able to express strong emotions and feel deep emotions. Others-- so many others-- are depressed, anxious, angry, or burned out, with shut off, deadened feelings.

This book is the first ever to develop a systematic approach to teaching people skills for having more and better good feelings and positive experiences. Other books tell how to feel good by getting rid of bad feelings or memories or habits. Or they applaud the benefits of laughter and humor. A few have listed pleasures, like a cook book for positive experience. THe problem is, teaching people to get rid of negatives may do nothing to help them feel good. Humor is only one, actually very infrequently mentioned positive experience. And a cook book of positive experiences doesn't help someone who doesn't know how to cook (or beleieves he can't,) or even where the cooking utensils are or how to use them.

This book teaches specific techniques for turning on good feelings at any time. It dissects the anatomy of positive expereicnce, analyzes the different behaviors associated with the many aspects of positive experience, and teaches practical skills for having more and better positive experiences-- skills you can begin using immediately.

Tens of millions of Americans experience difficulty or inability expressing or feeling emotions. A few million are depressed, but most aren't. They suffer from a disorder for the most part ignored by the health care system. They don't have cancer or coronary artery disease, but a vital part of their spirit has died and their metaphorical hearts are very ill indeed. This book can help them to profoundly change their lives, just as therapists and trainers I've taught the techniques to have helped tens of thousands of patients and employees.

Happy, cheerful people quickly benefit from positive Experience training. They add the new skills to their good feelings repertoire and try them out right away. They learn how to expand their horizons so they see recognize more opportunities for positive experiences and good feelings. They fine tune their feeling good response so they feel even better than they would have before training. YOu can learn to take good experiences and make them better by responding more deeply, connecting to the experience with more parts of your self and to others, and by stretching in new directions.

Depressed, emotionally paralyzed people gradually let down their guard and take more risks. They take much more time to develop the skills and raise the courage to feel really deeply, and really good.

So many psychological interventions and treatments address what to get rid of, what to eliminate, what to stop. They dredge through the crap in your life-- digging up bad memories, painful experiences, bad habits, angry feelings, sad feelings. The goal of thousands of these self-help books is to stop doing things, let go of behaviors and bad feelings.

But when you stop one behavior, you have to replace it with another behavior. This book teaches an optimistic positive view of self change. The goal is to learn new behaviors-- healthy ones-- which will supplant the unwanted behaviors. It's less toil, more fun and more hopeful to work at learning to turn on good feelings and build skills for having more and better positive experiences

This book evolved from my discovery that a huge blind spot exists in the scientific, psychological knowledge base about a profoundly important aspect of human life--the heart warming feeling and experience. I am certain you know what a heartwarming experience is, because I've asked thousands of people in my seminars and lectures and have never had a person who didn't know. And business make tens of billions of dollars in profits marketing and harvesting them. Yet science knows so little about them. It was this blind spot which intrigued me and motivated me to explore this ubiquitous, ever so essential element of our lives.

I began asking my patients to remember heartwarming experiences they'd enjoyed in the past while I monitored their physiological responses with a computerized biofeedback polygraph system. When they'd get into connecting with their warm hearted memories, all the physiology would go in the right direction--muscles would relax, hands would warm up, sweat gland activity would quiet, heart rate and respiration would become more stable. It was like magic-- more powerful than half a dozen other commonly used relaxation and self control techniques.

It worked so well, I began instructing my patients to start keeping records of their heartwarming experiences-- either new ones or old ones. I also began searching research data-bases to see what was know about the heartwarming experience-- to almost no avail. Scientists had ignored what poets and philosophers and bards had contemplated and studied at great depth. Heartwarming was an archetypal phenomenon which was ignored and deplored by the high priests of the quantifieable double-blind study.

My patients began to bring in their lists of heartwarmers.

examples Go to Hearwarming anecdotes page

But sometimes they wouldn't follow my rules. They'd list other kinds of good experiences which were clearly not heartwarmers, even though they were positive experiences-- the joy of love, discovery, completion, nice feelings of connection, good luck, learning, growth, giving, sharing, getting organized, being appreciated. All different varieties of positive experiences. So I changed my instructions, so they were assigned to record all kinds of positive experiences.

I asked my colleagues throughout the US what they knew about heartwarming and its cousins. They almost always told me about some researcher doing humor or laughter research. Strangely, my clients and later, my workshop and seminar participants almost never (less than one out of 1000) listed humor or comedy experiences among the positive experiences.

So many people let so much of themselves of their potential happiness and joy and ability to contribute to the world begin to die, to lie fallow by not living life to its fullest. It's like gangrene of the heart and spirit. ONce the pain or advoidance or the numbing confort of safe routine starts to take effect, it gradually spreads, like cancer, and kills the propnsity towards trying new things, and opening up to different behaviors. Rather than smiling with their whole body,,,,, with their walk, their hand gestures, with hugs and belly laughs, people's smiles shrivel up and weaken, until gradually, all they have left is a frail, tired, effortful, half hearted tug at the corners of their mouth.

I'm not talking about people with any physical illness-- at least not initially. I beleive that the death of one's heart and spirit dramatically increases risk and susceptibility to other diseases. But first there is the pathology of the metaphorical heart.

This book is a guide for opening up the heart, for bringing the dead of heart and spirit back to life. It's goal is to help spark, invigorate, arouse, and awaken people who are idling through their lives and jobs like fading embers, dimming and lustrous. Yet as I mentioned earlier, the people who seem to get the fastest most powerful immediate benefits are the healthiest. They grab the ideas in the book like high soaring eagles catching the positive experience ideas like currents of warmer air which lift them ever higher.

After reading this book, you'll begin to look at people and the bright spots in your life differently. You'll start to notice and appreciate the simpler beauties and opportunities to feel good and share those good feelings with others, to smile more often and find more reaasons to smile.

It's the kind of book you give to people you love, want to help.

It is written with inspiration from Steven Covey, M. Scott Peck, Norman Cousins, the human potential movement, Will Rogers, William James, Emerson, Thoreau, Disreali, Joubert, Franklin, Samuel Johnson, Addison, Shakespeare, Seneca, Epictetus and hundreds of other writers and philosophers, psychologists and researchers I've studied and conversed with to put together this simple approach to magnifying happiness and the capacity for feeling good.

yo safty i think halfdead is totaly in the wrong about this man he wastes my time by making whole page posts just to say he doesnt like 2 links multiple times in the same thread
the only emery link is to an article they published about roger i dont c anything wrong with that at all i dont like the dea but if there site has info i want & i dont gotta pay them for it im gunna go there no doubt

THC Ministry does not support exploiters a either.

The fact that halfdead wants a link removed to an article about Roger Christie and THC Ministry on the cannabis culture site is not supporting Mark Emery, it is information gathering.

There is no link to the cannabis culture main website on the THC Ministry website at all, only a link to an article about THC Ministry.

The current hawai'i ministry website will be replaced by a complete new one and until the new site is ready and has replaced the current one We are not changing anything on the old site, it will replaced soon and there is

No halfdead or anyone else who is going to command the content of our websites and will see his demands obeyed in a fraction of time.

Also, I personally agree with many of the points that Halfdead brings up regarding norml and on the Amsterdam Cannabis site which is owned by me there is no link to either Emery or norml, I work volunteerly for the cannabis community 12 hours/day minimum and I spend not only all my energy but also nearly every penny I can save to the same community and every single penny of donations goes back to our community also and so are most of the active ministers of THC Ministry doing all over the world.

Calling us exploiters is not fair and an insult really, We do not deserve this rage and hatred because of a link that does not get removed fast enough for your likings.
