Where and when did the 'war on drugs' start?

Here are the roots of our un-going struggle...

1484: Pope Innocent VIII labels cannabis as an unholy sacrament of the Satanic mass and issues a papal ban on cannabis medicines.

In this document is written (by his holyness Pope Innocent VIII) that cannabis must be outlawed, to say it diplomatically. Of course the Inquisition, and the following "war on drugs" (read "war on Entheogens") has not been much diplomatic at all.

Weird isn't it, that the Xtians have THAT much (destroying) influence on history. Untill today we are hunted for our practices.
