As you well know, I am shit scared at the moment, because the social services claim they have the right to remove my Angels.
So you can imagine my stress levels yesterday, when my son come home from the park and said he had hurt his knee and did not know how it happened. (daddies obveriously beaten him whilst stoned)
So on went my Druid head.
Well finally got to the bottom of it.
He had started playing football without warming up and twisted his knee and carried on.
So I took him to the doctors, but it was not my regular doctor.
I said "sorry this a waste of your time, but the child support agency is try to take my kids. (fatel, that is the first signs of abuse) But i brought him along anyway for you to check him over."
so she went through all the crap, we were there for ages. Then she said to my son (not me) "are you ok to take tablets". I jumped up and said "eh no" (second sign of abuse, neglect) I said "I have already said I will put some tiger balm on it when we get home". She said "No thats no good, he needs ibuprofen tablets, there only small, start off with 200 mg 3/4 times a day I suggest 4 to start, for at least one week, maybe 2 weeks, But don't worry I will give you enough.
Roger what do you think we should do (please don't answer it was a retorical question).
I wish the post would hurry up I am waiting for some info. |

My opinion; Ibuprofen is a pain killer and should only be used when pain immobilizes one's normal functionalities, like with severe headaches or severe tooth ache. Otherwise no.
If J. has severe pain it could be a relief for sure and he's old enough to deside for himself when that's the case but it should never be used in the way the doctor recommended, J needs to rest and support his knee by the use of one of those elastic knee bandages (you can get those in every pharmacy). Giving 3-4 Iboprofen to a child for two weeks straight without telling that it could only be used when it's really needed is not a good advice.
..but that's just my two cents. _________________

Ferre, you know Jack, he is just like yours, hes up walking around, I think he has forgotten it hurts!!!!
It was just stiff after a nights sleep and I just did not want him limping in school, they would just claim neglect. |

W T F ?
Kids do have minor accidents once in a while. Good parents do teach their kids in advance how to behave when they happen to themselves or their playmates.
Injuries caused by abusive parents do have a clear signature recognisable by any professional, even more so when inflicted in the heat of the moment. Do the British authorities take your Cannabis as a pretext to accuse you of intentionally torturing your kid in a fashion that would leave no such traces?
Well that´s institutional paranoia. I wish your kids lasting sanity until these sham authorities lose interest in them.
And I agree with Ferre, teach your son to use painkillers according to necessity. The earlier he gets that lesson the better. |

I agree and would only add to teach him to resist pain pills with everything in him. I was in severe need of pain medication after this surgery, and I stopped myself taking them half way through the prescription. Not to mention I only took half the recommended dosage. Had I any fresh cannabis, my need would have been much less. I absolutely detest painkillers and many other modern prescription medications, but there are times when it is necessary. Ibuprofren is quite mild, and a tablet or two taken when the pain is at it's WORST is not a bad thing. It's use may provide some relief when pain is agonizing. _________________ -Brother Adam (we are all one family)

Police officers acquitted for beating a 64 yr old man recently in New Orleans. In the words of their defense attorney "all he had to do was comply"....and they wouldn't have fractured his face. |

Btw, I just found out that Ibuprofen is known to be anti inflamatory agent as well, so it isn't bad at all to use it if a muscle is inflamed, which probably is the case. _________________
