Since mid-afternoon yesterday, and youth turnout has, thus-far, been remarkable, and the mood seems to be shifting in Kerry's favor, I have noticed a real feeling of confidence coming from the Kerry Camp, and a put-a-brave-face-on sense of....less than confidence coming from the Bush Kamp.
Let's hope I'm right. I love being right.

Personally, and I hope I donīt start a big debate or get in a fight about this.
I donīt live in the US, and every president that I remember, since the first Bush (Iīm not very old) have had an interest on wars and governing the world. So I donīt think that Kerry is an alternative at all, he will continue with most of the empire conquest or in a slight different manner, by being more prudent, or not.
I really think that he is as bad as Bush.
Sorry if I made upset anyone, but I believe that nothing will change if Kerry wins. |

Machete, Bro. I don't know of anyone who's for Kerry.
But I know a lot of people who want to fire Bush.
If we succeed, let us enjoy a day or two of celebrations and just plain feeling good.
We'll deal with Kerry in due time.

Amen to what Mystic said....
The feeling in my neck of the woods is the same. Everyone just wants Bush out....Kerry is the only alternative so we have to accept it...
One of the things this election has done is to galvanize alot of people into being much more pro-active in their political associations which is a very wonderful thing in this country!
It's been a long time.... _________________ Fyrefly1

I am glad people are taking a look and being proactive in politics again.
I was a victim of voter apathy many times before...but that is what gets us in the mess we are in now.
More people , ALL people, (myself included)need to focus, be aware, and VOTE!
We need to hold our elected officials responsible for what they say and do. |

| I think you did the right thing , Lilli.Much as this country needs a president from outside of the Dem. or Rep. camp for a change, I feel not voting for Kerry would help the Republicans screw up the country even more than they have the last four years. |

I think it's about time for the American people and America for a 3rd party, or even four to become just as powerfull as the two corruped ones that are devidig the country now, I think this is a positive thing about these elections and the past 4 years, it made this very clear.
Start to look out for alternatives I'd say, there are other parties out there, they only need more backup from the people to have some influence. _________________ █ Please read the Board Rules and Posting, and you

America has effectively ended up with only a two party system and it no longer works for us, IMHO.
Each party spends half the time fighting anything and everything the other does just as a matter of course, 25% of the time trying to line their own pockets and 25%of the time trying to re-elect their own party candidates. This leaves no time for the public who they are supposed to be serving, which is wrong.
Dems and Reps are so entrenched and well $monied$ that other candidates have about zero chance of being elected because of this, IMO.
I wish it were otherwise and I know others do as well, but it just seems there are not enough to actually vote in a Libertarian or whatever other party, this just seems to take votes that would have leaned Democratic party otherwise. |
