Einstein was agnostic.
I don't believe he said that for a minute. |

This is from an interview of Einstein, by Peter A Bucky: http://www.einsteinandreligion.com/bucky.html

BUCKY:
But don't you find any discrepancy between your previous somewhat anti-religious statements and your willingness to be identified publicly as a Jew?
EINSTEIN:
Not necessarily. Actually it is a very difficult thing to even define a Jew. The closest that I can come to describing it is to ask you to visualize a snail. A snail that you see at the ocean consists of the body that is snuggled inside of the house which it always carries around with it. But let's picture what would happen if we lifted the shell off of the snail. Would we not still describe the unprotected body as a snail? In just the same way, a Jew who sheds his faith along the way, or who even picks up a different one, is still a Jew.

Hey Mystic Power, I just noticed that you said...

In all fairness that is the exact way NON-BELIEVERS address discrepencies as well. The only difference is that the NON-BELIEVERS keep changing their explanations....
Every few years they have some new test/technology/information that tells them their previous theory was completely wrong. They get their big erasers out and suddenly they have their latest version of truth/proof/facts. They will defend these "facts" until a newer version appears, ad infinitum..... |

Yep, that's called progress, in science, if science would hold on to everything they once discovered despite the fact the new knowledge on certain issues ask for adjustment of known facts we would still, technically, live in the stone age and keep believing the earth is flat. _________________ █ Please read the Board Rules and Posting, and you

Hi Bamaman...
It applies to "true believers" of all sorts...not only the religious kind.
I think it's a good idea to simply remain open and observant, rather than to cling to the "ONE TRUE TRUTH" whether that be religious, scientific, historical or philosophical.
The more we know, the more we grow.
