To all authorities who have ears to hear. Do not cross this line! There is a point beyond which men of conscience cannot be pushed. This is that point.

I signed the pettition and added the comment below. BTW, I have never thought that America was so great that another nation was second to us. All countries are G-d's countries, but I think you all know the kind of people we are dealing with. If my comments on the abortion issue offend anybody that was not my intent, but please remember, most of these politicians are of the Christian right and abortion is an issue that hits them in a tender spot. My letter was intended to gain maximum effect. If anybody chooses abortion, it is there choice. As I said the comment was intended to hit them below the belt, not to offend anyone on the forum.
I live in Florida and my congressman is Mark Foley

Dear Mr Foley: Please sir, this is nothing short of communism. for the sake of the American people and the sacred freedoms of our republic, freedoms our fathers, brothers and sisters have died to protect, don't go there. You cannot legislate morality by eliminating what some consider the undesirables. This is after all an unreasonable and paranoid approach to an artificial problem. One which was invented solely by our government. The world can no longer bear Americas war on cannabis. Please, stop standing between God and the people. The Lord will not forgive you on judgement day for the wanton destruction of our fellows for the crime of accepting God's gifts. Cannabis was made by God in his devine wisdom. It is so unthinkable that God's country has turned against God's sacred gifts. Remember, it was the US government that allowed the abortion holocaust to gain legality. This is not a matter of government opinion. The federal government has taken authority not intended by the constitution and become drunk with it. One day you will loose the war on cannabis, do you want to be remembered like Benedict Arnold? History will not be kind to the cannabis warriors. You all will be hated and despised and your future families will be ashamed to have your blood in their veins. Stop worrying about your career, you have made your mark and at this point will be remembered with honor. Please sir, start worrying about the people this bill will destroy. This is the kind of bill that may be construed by some as a line in the sand. The people will not comply with this tyrrany and it will only bring about revolution. Is that what you want? Do you and your fellow leaders hate the American people so much that you are willing to go this far to sepearte us from the gifts of God? I will never be seperated from them, never. May the Lord bless you with the wisdom and the vision to see danger that approaches and give you the courage to stand up for those you are charged with protecting.

Yep. Roley-Poley-Foley is my fat-cat congress-monkey, too.

I've written him a lot...

I always get back the same drug-war form-letter about how important the war-on-drugs is....

This one's worth a stamp and a snail-mail letter, folks. Those get more attention than emails...

Bliss,
Ben

I've tried scan-reading the bill HR 1528, but I have not found anything that even remotely reads like the Downsize DC site. Can anyone tell me where I can find the part of the bill that Downsize is talking about?

However, I would like to point out some of the strange draconian language for those convicted of the crime of "distribution of a controlled substance to anyone under the age of 21" (this could include giving wine to anyone under 21 as part of communion or Thanksgiving) the punishment is "not to be less than 10 years imprisonment".

There is a provision that allows for "a mandatory term of life imprisonment" near the bottom of page 3.

Here's a link to the actual bill if anyone is interested in reading it.

http://frwebgate.access.gpo.gov/cgi-bin/getdoc.cgi?dbname=109_cong_bills&docid=f:h1528ih.txt.pdf

I wonder if aspirin falls under the catagory of controlled substance...

One quick amendment to my 2 previous posts. I have found one reference to the spying on friends and family beginning on page 12 line 18. On page 13 the penalty for not being a snitch is spelled out as a sentence of not less than 2 years imprisonment.

Yeah, I'd like to believe in the good of people, that they wouldn't turn yellow and snitch, but then I remember Ruby Ridge and Waco. Which of their friends and neighbors came to help when the Feds and their army acted against the Constitution by launching a domestic armed assault?

Cold fact is that no one stood up, but many stood by and watched. And I guarantee that someone snitched.

I could imagine that most people would fold if the right pressure was applied. It would become, "Take him, not me!" That's how the Nazi's did it and we have been seeing this thing unfold in America for over a decade.

The federal pig has learned it's lesson well.

I now consider the Christian right to be among the greatest threats this world has ever faced. Just to set the record straight, I am a follower of Jesus Christ, not a "Christian" The "Christians" are respnosible for, and will be responsible some of the greatest attrocities the world will ever know. Please, any of you who have judged Christ because of the actions of the "Christians" give him another chance. The "Christian" right really does not know him. We are all the work of G-d, yet the "Christian" right hates us, one cannot love the Lord and hate the work of the Lord. If you hate G-ds work, you hate G-d. It is clear how the "Christian" "right" thinks. Please, distinguish his true followers from those who use him as a step ladder to world power and domination.
