When I first started my 'internet campaign', three years ago now, one of the first people to come forward with material help was an english guy working at the uni in tokyo, who gave almost all of his spare time to working with Taima.
He sent me a cheque & some reference books, including a truly excellent one by Thomas Szaz that I can't remeber the title of (it's 'in storage' with my parents in england) about how, in western society, the medical/pharmaceutical complex has taken over the 'control' role on society from religion. If it wasn't for his help, backed by Taima, I wouldn't have got to where I am today.
The 'scene' in japan, in many ways, is even more oppresive than in the 'states so lets all 'big it up' for the brave souls who risk so much to increase awareness of the importance of the herb in such a socially-controlled society.
(The dude who helped me is now back in the UK, working on his masters degree & doing voluntry work in the larger human rights field.) |
