ok i've been reading endless threads about thc-ministry in Florida. What I really need to know is if I should sign up for it still if it doesn't work in Florida. Is it even worth the time ?

Yes, the defense will work in Florida. The question is, will YOU work the defense in Florida? We have the same legal precedents as any other state including, but not limited to, the RFRA of 1993, the US constitution, and the Florida constitution.

Is it worth joining? Yes. If you want to be a part of a group of over 30,000 people world wide who share similar views, and lend some credibility to your religious use of cannabis, then of course! If you would like to have a sanctuary kit that outlines each and every legal precedent this ministry (and quite frankly, any religious use) is based upon, then yes it's worth it. If you feel you would like something more than just saying "I use cannabis religiously" and more leverage should you or your loved ones ever need to defend your beliefs, then yes. It's worth it.

To my knowledge the defense has not been worked in any of Florida's courts as of yet...Please, correct me if I'm wrong. This defense is not an iron clad guarantee. It's something that takes sincerety most of all, knowledge of the legalities involved, and the willingness to stand up for the rights that have been gauranteed you by the constitution this nation was founded upon. You, or any other practitioner will have to be ready to implement this defense should the need arise. We all hope that day never comes, but when it does, wouldn't it be great to set a new precedent in a state that is known for it's harsh laws against cannabis use? I think so, and I'm more than willing to help any Florida members who may have a need to set such a precedent.

We also have members in countries all around the world where cannabis use is legal, or is not a punished offense. Those members have joined for one reason, and one reason only: they realize the significance of cannabis in every day spirituality.

Instead of asking will the defense work, you should ask yourself how sincere you are as a religious cannabis user. If you're like the rest of us, knowing that those spiritual connections between man, cannabis, and the universe around us are both real, and neccessary, then by all means, join the ministry!

I also noted the fact that this was your first post, and you have yet to post anything further. Don't be shy, we are a peaceful, loving group. Ask your questions and add your own input so that we all may grow. Thanks, and good luck! Let your spirit be your guide, if it feels right, it probably is. Cool

The thing is, its not a foolproof defense, anywhere. You have the tools, but they just dont work by themselves. Its, as Rev Adam said, all in the way you work it.

Just saying you're a member of the thc ministry isnt enough. Anyone who does that will most likely get slapped with jail time. You also need to prove your a productive member of society, and that the legalization of marijuana isnt the only thing you care about. You have to convince the judge that you arent using the ministry as an excuse to smoke weed.

You have to be sincere, and the THC ministry has to be only part of your defense. Bring forth other things you do, show the courts your not just another pot head but that's just part of you and who you are, not the whole, just a part.

Amen and AMEN, Brother Zero.

Probably my favorite post of yours to date. Thank you for saying it so clearly.
