The latest assault on living as Americans comes to us from Chicago. Not the first by any means. Another of a long line of Corporate Government sponsored industry and science fiction. This time promoted and displayed by the Museum of Science and Industry no less. An insult to both. In reality this farce profits the sponsors perpetuating the business end of the Ganjawar. It promotes the continuation of bloated budgets and taxes from each sale and salary of those enforcing, spying and gathering evidence. It keeps a less toxic, safer competition from the so called Free Trade Market. In reality these corporate slicksters bilk billions of tax dollars into their own pockets selling Ganjawar paraphernalia while getting huge grants to advertise the product "prohibition" in silly titillating displays and one liners spliced into sitcoms and movies.

For these blatant nationalistic acts of fascism they are rewarded with tax shelters for donations to the present drug czars Philanthropical Enterprise called the Philanthropy Roundtable. Where he sat as President harassing Clintons meager effort of arresting more Ganja users than Nixon, Reagan and Bush senior combined. Using these “donations” for more “Propaganda Perpetuation”, mostly to Madison Ave. Ad Agencies groups like the P.D.F.A. and religious “treatment facilities” and F.R.Cn truth spinsters. All waiting in line, sure of the Apocalypse. Shining up their buckles and bibles sweeping the rif raft under the poly vinyl carpet.

All three of the broadcast corporations are owned by Energy Industries Suppliers. GE supplies all of the Electrical Companies using fossil fuels or nukes. GE owns NBC, with Mouthpieces covering up the polluting, kickback and influence in elections. NBC broadcasting network and it's MS clones. Not only for positive spin advertising for nukes and fossil fool enterprises, but most importantly, to not broadcast important news. Such as Chernobyl or the fact it has a lot of profit tied up in the drug war. The Irony in hemp cleaning up Chernobyl and other chemical wastelands.

GE brings good things to Dyncorps and other police paraphernalia agencies "fighting" the war on some drug users. It has a lot to lose if hemp gets separated from Ganja. Filtering information and highlighting diversions and fake news. And the DEAth Madness that should conclude with the truth of whom actually supports terrorism. Westinghouse owns CBS and Disney/ABC owns Three Mile island. Faux and Pat Robertsons Family channel ditto along with the Radio whacko cheerleaders.

The other sponsor, McDonalds, sells meat. Hemp seed is not grown by Family Farmers because it comprises 99% of the marijuana eradication's and keeps a lot of natural organic nutritious alternatives from the people. From animal feed to supplementing grease burgers with actual human nutritional requirements. As long as the citizens "see" life from their TV's and dead tree paper the corporate profits will continue. Not that Ganja and hemp isn't bringing profits. Just not in the Americas outside of Canada. The fast food traffickers spreading obesity, diabetes and carcinogens to America's youth. School lunches to army rations. Devastating far more kids than Ganja ever could.

This particular fast food giant by no coincidence sponsoring the Prohibition Exhibition, is simply helping in its own little ways to keep competition off the Stock Exchange. When hempseed nutrition became newsworthy in the mid 90's, slightly newsworthy. The first thing McCaffrey and Clinton did was to protect their lobbyist campaign financiers. From Tyson to McDonalds, all scurrying to keep this new protein and essential fatty acid source away from the grocery stores. Now more than ever. Breaking Indian Treaties of Sovereign land except for x drug czars to lose millions playing slot machines. Busting hemp crops on the Rez.

Hemp infiltration from Canada became of major import with the Czarbarry busting 17 truckloads of birdseed coming to the US pet stores. For over 60 mostly Anslinger years even. With a nod and wink and stroke of a pen it all became a schedule#1 narcotic. Then the health food stores were threatened like the headshops selling glass artwork bongs. Many went out of business, too afraid of selling illegal substances. Many month's of un-American terrorizing the Hemp Food Industry with bold face lies and harsh threats.

The courts in a rare brave move, sided with the Hempsters. Leaving hemp food off the most dangerous narcotic list for time being. But US farmers were still forbidden from growing. The only country in the Western Hemisphere permitted to grow hemp, under a behind closed doors treaty, is in Canada. Not even in Mexico, bringing a staple cash crop to those willing to risk life and limb crossing deserts for scab wage US jobs. The factory farms would have to pay minimum wages.

Hemp also threatens GE as an alternative fuel source. And as an alternative fiber source. Not requiring the millions of pounds of poisons the cotton and flax crops require. All of the pesticides and herbicides are based in fossil fuels. As well as the plastics made from crude that can be made with hemp carbohydrates.

Another of the sponsors of the DEAth's Target Americans is former head of NIDA, Peter Bensinger. No stranger to making small fortunes promoting the Ganjawar. With former drug czar Carlton Turner they tried to actually corner the market on urine testing. Releasing NIDA Gutter Science to schools and most of the mainstream media.

So now we know why Mickey D, GE and NBC are sponsoring this bogus display of religio-fascists corporatism, called the drug war, predominantly the Ganjawar or Hempwar. Government employees of Big Business pushing a war on suffering Americans, for profit. All of these corporations have lied to protect their vested interest. No different than the Tobacco Companies selling out the tobacco farmers while protecting the same corporate chemicals making the deadly “products”. Enron, Anderson World Com and how many more with records destroyed in the World Trade Center? No different from the DEAth Corporation lies perpetuating the Ganjawar. Perfect match, but are they really worthy of your business? Anyone supporting the drug war sponsors supports terrorism. Directly, not with lame wishful thinking from liars in dark smoky closed door sessions. GE's NBC and McDonalds are as un-American as the instant snitzel and grits they eat for breakfast.
Wake up America.

The DEA Exhibit -- your turn

A few more sponsors...

* Chicago Blackhawks (Contact Form)
* Motorola Foundation (Email Contact)
* McCormick Tribune Foundation (Contact Info)
* Field Foundation (Staff email addresses)
* Chicago Community Trust (Contact info)

Note about sponsors: There appears to be some confusion as to the actual list of sponsors for the exhibit. I got the list on the right side of this page directly from the DEA Museum's site (which had been updated as of July 27). However, their site now has this shorter list as of May 1 and an even shorter list as of January 15. The museum's exhibit site only lists two sponsors - McDonald's and NBC 5.

So write some letters. It only takes a few minutes. And it's your turn.

Urine Testing Company

After his resignation, Turner joined with Robert DuPont and former head of NIDA, Peter Bensinger, to corner the market on urine testing. They contracted as advisors to 250 of the largest corporations to develop drug diversion, detection, and urine testing programs.

Soon after Turner left office, Nancy Reagan recommended that no corporation be permitted to do business with the Federal government without having a urine purity policy in place to show their loyalty.

Just as G. Gordon Liddy went into high-tech corporate security after his disgrace, Carlton Turner became a rich man in what has now become a huge growth industry: urine-testing.

This kind of business denies the basic rights of privacy, self-incrimination (Fifth Amendment) rights, unreasonable search and seizure, and the presumption of innocence (until proven guilty).

Submission to the humiliation of having your most private body parts and functions observed by a hired voyeur is now the test of eligibility for private employment, or to contract for a living wage.

Turner's new money-making scheme demands that all other Americans relinquish their fundamental right to privacy and self-respect.

Texas Teen Finds Marijuana In McDonald's Dessert

A teenager says she found a partially smoked, quarter-inch long marijuana cigarette in her frozen yogurt parfait at a McDonald’s in South Texas.

Sixteen-year-old Valerie Valle of Round Rock and seven other family members were returning home Thursday from a weeklong vacation on South Padre Island when they stopped for breakfast in San Benito. The Valley Morning Star in Harlingen reports that Valle waited in line to return the parfait and replied “no thanks” when asked if she wanted another one. The restaurant refunded the money.

Police took the used marijuana cigarette as evidence. No charges have been filed and no arrests have been made. The company that owns the McDonald’s franchise says it is investigating and that no conclusions should be drawn until all the facts are known.

2oz Tin - Marijuana - Over 1 billion stoned!

This is a colourful, high-quality tobacco tin. A great tin to store your stash and tobacco in, and a very fine image to make your tin stand out among the rest!

Weight: 36g * Size: 112mm x 83mm x 29mm * Price: £2.99

There are clearly lots of people opposed to the way McDonald's go about their business. So there is a big global debate going on about them right? Wrong.

McDonald's know full well how important their public image is and how damaging it would be to them if any of the allegations started becoming well-known amongst their customers. So they use their financial clout to influence the media, and legal powers to intimidate people into not speaking out, directly threatening free speech.

The list of media organisations who have been sued in the past is daunting, and the number of publications suppressed or pulped is frightening. But what are the lessons of the successful and ever-growing anti-McDonald's campaign for those also determined to challenge those institutions which currently dominate society?

McDonald's To Pull Out Of UK Primary Schools

McDonald's is to curtail its presence in UK primary schools as part of a radical overhaul of its national education programme.

Conservationists have often focussed on McDonald's as an industry leader promoting business practices detrimental to the environment. And yet the company spends a fortune promoting itself as environmentally friendly. What's the story?

One of the most well-known and sensitive questions about McDonald's is: are they responsible for the destruction of tropical forests to make way for cattle ranching? McDonald's say no. Many people say yes. So McDonald's sue them. Not so many people say yes anymore, but does this mean McDonald's aren't responsible?

They annually produce over a million tons of packaging, used for just a few minutes before being discarded. What environmental effect does the production and disposal of all this have? Is their record on recycling and recycled products as green as they make out? Are they responsible for litter on the streets, or is that the fault of the customer who drops it? Can any multinational company operating on McDonald's scale not contribute to global warming, ozone destruction, depletion of mineral resources and the destruction of natural habitats?

McDonald's to address UK 'animal sentience' conference

McDonald's, probably the world's largest exploiter and promoter of animals as meat machines, has been booked to address the International Conference on Animal Sentience.

We're not arguing that the environmental and social crisis is entirely the fault of one high-profile burger chain, or even just the whole food industry. McDonald's are of course simply a particularly arrogant, shiny and self-important example of a system which values profits at the expense of anything else. Even if McDonald's were to close down tomorrow someone else would simply slip straight into their position.

There is a much more fundamental problem than Big Macs and French Fries: capitalism. But what about anti-capitalist beliefs like socialism and anarchism? Is it possible to create a world run by ordinary people themselves, without multinationals and governments - a world based on sharing, freedom and respect for all life?

Minister talks tough on fast food for children

The public health minister Melanie Johnson last night began tightening the screws on fast food companies to end two-for-one burger promotions and incentives aimed at children.

Many nutritionists argue that the type of high fat, low fibre diet promoted by McDonald's is linked to serious diseases such as cancer, heart disease, obesity and diabetes. The sort of diseases that are now responsible for nearly three-quarters of premature deaths in the western world. McDonald's respond that the scientific evidence is not conclusive and that their food can be a valuable part of a balanced diet.

Some people say McDonald's are entitled to sell junk food in exactly the same way that chocolate or cream cake manufacturers do: if people want to buy it that's their decision. But should McDonald's be allowed to advertise their products as nutritious? Why do they sponsor sports events when they sell unhealthy products? And what on earth are they doing opening restaurants in hospitals?

Junk food clampdown threat

The food industry was warned to stop advertising junk food to children within a year or face a clampdown.

In 1996 McDonald's opened in India for the first time: a country where the majority of the population is vegetarian and the cow is sacred. Just one example of the inexorable spread of western multinationals into every corner of the globe. A spread which is creating a globalised system in which wealth is drained out of local economies into the hands of a very few, very rich elite.

Can people challenge the undermining of long-lived and stable cultures, and regional diversity? Self-sufficient and sustainable farming is replaced by cash crops and agribusiness under control of multinationals - but how are people fighting back?

Marijuana Drug Czar Distorts Report

Astonishingly, Walters claims that the 1999 Institute of Medicine report didn't urge the government to allow seriously ill people legal access to medical marijuana on a case-by-case basis. What the institute did say about medical use of marijuana by AIDS and cancer patients was "nausea, appetite loss, pain and anxiety are all afflictions of wasting, and all can be mitigated by marijuana." Maybe these experts were duped. Maybe John Walters, unbeknown to us, has medical expertise beyond that of the world's leading physicians and researchers. Or maybe he's lying in a desperate attempt to save a collapsing policy.

Bird Food Is a Casualty of the U.S. War on Drugs

"They say it's a tractor trailer full of drugs," Laprise said. "We say it's a tractor trailer full of birdseed."

But while smoking marijuana delivers a psychoactive high, smoking hemp gives only a headache. Tetrahydrocannabinol, known as THC, the psychoactive component in marijuana, usually varies between 4 and 20 percent of a leaf. Industrial hemp has a THC below 1 percent.

The birdseed seized in Detroit had a THC content of barely .0014 percent, which wouldn't give a bird a buzz.

Fear in the Fields

Audubon Magazine - Legalize It!

If the war on drugs were really about reducing supply, drug controllers would be promoting hemp. But the war has taken on a life of its own, become an industry unto itself. For example, Congress gives the DEA half a billion dollars a year to eradicate marijuana. But according to the DEA's own figures, 98 percent of the "marijuana" eradicated by its agents or the police departments and National Guard units it hires is hemp-the harmless, feral stuff that escaped during Hemp for Victory days.

"Ditchweed," it's called. That's the "marijuana" you see getting burned in all the photos. If you're caught with ditchweed, you're in big trouble, as Vernon McElroy, 50, discovered in 1991 when he got convicted for possessing 10.9 pounds that he says a friend had picked and given him as a joke. Now he's doing life without parole at the overcrowded maximum-security penitentiary in Springville, Alabama. In Oklahoma, ditchweed is even sprayed with herbicides from helicopters. And last year Congress authorized $23 million for research into a soil-borne fungus that attacks and kills marijuana, poppy, and coca plants. Mike DeWine (R-OH) calls it a "silver bullet" in the war on drugs, but David Struhs, secretary of the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, calls it a threat to the "natural environment.".

Many Essential Nutrients Found in Hemp Seed
By Nancy Ross Ryan July 27, 2000 Chicago Tribune

According to the latest research, there are about 45 nutrients that humans can't live without and which their bodies can't manufacture: 21 minerals, 13 vitamins, eight amino acids and two essential fatty acids. No single food has them all. But when a food is discovered that is a rich source of several essential nutrients, such as hemp seed, it makes nutrition news. Its promoters bill hemp seed as the soybean of the new millennium. In addition to containing vitamins and minerals (calcium, iron, thiamine, niacin and riboflavin), hemp seed, like the soybean, is a vegetable source of complete protein, having all eight amino acids. Hemp oil (pressed from the hemp seed) is, according to many, the best source of the two essential fatty acids (or EFAs) we can't live without: omega 3 alpha-linolenic acid and omega 6 linoleic acid.

In 1992 a consortium of 20 British farmers requested permission to grow industrial hemp, a crop that had been banned since 1971. Home Office Minister Michael Jack saw no reason to oppose the request since industrial hemp had been grown for years on the Continent "without any problems". The farmers received licenses to cultivate 1500 acres. In 1993 a consortium of 10 Canadian farmers requested permission to grow hemp, a crop that had been banned since 1923. The federal government informed them the law would have to be changed before commercial plots could be harvested. However, seeing that "farmers in Canada are very interested in it", Health Minister Diane Marleau issued a permit for 18 acres of experimental plots. The next year Parliament enabled commercial harvests.

The McLibel Trial
The McLibel Trial is the infamous British court case between McDonald's and a former postman & a gardener from London (Helen Steel and Dave Morris). It ran for two and a half years and became the longest ever English trial. The defendants were denied legal aid and their right to a jury, so the whole trial was heard by a single Judge, Mr Justice Bell. He delivered his verdict in June 1997.

The verdict was devastating for McDonald's. The judge ruled that they 'exploit children' with their advertising, produce 'misleading' advertising, are 'culpably responsible' for cruelty to animals, are 'antipathetic' to unionisation and pay their workers low wages. But Helen and Dave failed to prove all the points and so the Judge ruled that they HAD libelled McDonald's and should pay 60,000 pounds damages. They refused and McDonald's knew better than to pursue it. In March 1999 the Court of Appeal made further rulings that it was fair comment to say that McDonald's employees worldwide "do badly in terms of pay and conditions", and true that "if one eats enough McDonald's food, one's diet may well become high in fat etc., with the very real risk of heart disease."

Factory Farms
Meat production in the United States has changed dramatically over the past 20 years. Many of today's farms are actually industrial facilities, not the peaceful, idyllic family farms most Americans think of. These factory farms are also known as confined animal feeding operations (CAFOs) or intensive livestock operations (ILOs). They emphasize high volume and profit with minimal regard for human health, safe food, the environment, humane treatment of animals, and the rural economy - in other words, factory farms are not sustainable.

The definition of a factory farm varies from state to state; however, these industrial facilities share many of the following characteristics:

 Hundreds to thousands of animals (mainly cows, pigs, chickens or turkeys) confined tightly together and provided little or no access to sunlight, fresh air or room for natural movement. Some facilities produce millions of animals yearly. Public health problems, including the overuse of antibiotics and food borne illness. Liquid waste systems and "lagoons" to store raw manure. Buildings that confine animals indoors and control their environment. Mutilation of animals such as debeaking poultry, clipping pigs' tails and teeth, and docking cows' tails. The corporation that owns or controls the factory farm also owns the feed company, slaughterhouse, and final stages of production (referred to as vertical integration). Through contract growing, a remote corporation controls all aspects of raising the animals. The livestock owner does not manage the day-to-day operations of the facility. The farmer is left with the risk, debt payments on barns and facilities, waste, and dead animal disposal. A decrease in neighboring property values because of odor and water pollution.

An estimated 70% of all antibiotics in the U.S. are fed to pigs, poultry and cattle merely to promote growth and to compensate for the unsanitary and confined conditions on factory farms. This medically unnecessary use of antibiotics fosters the development of antibiotic-resistant bacteria that can spread to other animals and humans.1

Factory farms are quickly taking over the livestock industry. In the poultry industry, 98% of all poultry is now produced by corporations, forcing family farms out of business.

Industrialized Feeding
Cows are ruminants, and ruminants are designed by nature to digest grass and only grass. They digest it first by eating it raw and second by regurgitating it and eating it again in a partially-digested form known as cud. As ruminants, cows have four chambers in their stomachs, and as a cow digests, the food moves slowly from one chamber to the next&mdashwhich takes time. But because of the milk production demands on today&rsquos factory farms, cows are not allowed the courtesy of grazing and digesting naturally.

* Roughly 25,000 square kilometers or 6 million acres of the Amazon rainforest is cut down every year for grazing cattle and to grow soybeans that are used for animal feed.

* Soybean meal and shelled corn are the most common plant proteins and grains fed to dairy cows.12 They are also some of the most genetically engineered crops in America, with 85% of all soybeans and 40% of all corn coming from genetically engineered sources.

Slanker's Grass-Fed Meats
Contaminants in Beef Focusing On Science
The only absolute, unquestionable differences found in beef are dependent on whether or not they are grain-fed or grass-fed.  In that department there are HUGE differences.  Many scientific studies have proven it; plus visual, feel, and taste comparisons confirm the chemical analysis.  Science also confirms that all grass-fed livestock products are more nutritionally balanced for good human health than are food products from grain-fed livestock.

HEMP'S ENERGY PROMISE
by Russell Barth, (Source:Nelson Daily News) 11 Jul 2005

Here are some interesting facts about Hemp that you should share with the public.

Fuel: Farming 6% of the continental U.S. acreage with biomass crops would provide all of America's energy needs.

Hemp is Earth's number-one biomass resource; it is capable of producing 10 tons per acre in four months.

Biomass can be converted to methane, methanol, or gasoline at a cost comparable to petroleum, and hemp is much better for the environment. Pyrolysis ( charcoalizing ), or biochemical composting are two methods of turning hemp into fuel.

Hemp can produce 10 times more methanol than corn.

Hemp fuel burns clean. Petroleum causes acid rain due to sulphur pollution.

The use of hemp fuel does not contribute to global warming.

Food: Hemp seed can be pressed into a nutritious oil, which contains the highest amount of fatty acids in the plant kingdom. Essential oils are responsible for our immune system responses, and clear the arteries of cholesterol and plaque.

The by-product of pressing the oil from hemp seed is high quality protein seed cake. It can be sprouted ( malted ) or ground and baked into cakes, breads, and casseroles. Hemp seed protein is one of mankind's finest, most complete and available-to-the-body vegetable proteins.

Hemp seed was the world's number one wild and domestic bird seed until the 1937 Marijuana prohibition law.

Fibre: Hemp is the oldest cultivated fibre plant in the world.

Tracking Carbon Dioxide Emissions from Fossil Fuel Burning
NASA/GISS March 1997

The largest single source of atmospheric carbon dioxide (CO2) is the burning of fossil fuel (coal, oil and gas), which currently accounts for ~80% of the annual emission of CO2 into the atmosphere. Nitrogen is also a byproduct of fossil fuel use. Fossil fuels, therefore, play a pivotal role in the global budget of carbon, acting as both a source of CO2 and of atmospheric nitrogen which can fertilize the biosphere and stimulate it to sequester carbon.

Statistics indicate that fossil fuel use accounts for emissions to the atmosphere of ~5.5 GtC (GtC = billions of metric tons of carbon) annually. Other important processes in the global CO2 budget are tropical deforestation, estimated to generate about 1.6 GtC/yr; absorption by the oceans, removing about 2.0 GtC/yr; and regrowth of northern forests, taking up about 0.5 GtC/yr. However, accurate measurements of CO2 show that the atmosphere is accumulating only about 3.3 GtC/yr. The imbalance of about 1.3 GtC/yr, termed the "missing sink", represents the difference between the estimated sources and the estimated sinks of CO2. This imbalance has increase consistently since around 1920 and has undergone substantial increases since 1950.

The Crazy Incentives of the Drug War
You think it's designed to discourage drugs? Think again.
By Steven E. Landsburg Aug. 14, 2000
Between January 1994 and January 1999, on the Maryland stretch of Interstate 95, a black motorist was three and a half times as likely as a white motorist to be stopped by the police and searched for drugs. You might be tempted to conclude that the police were out to get blacks. The truth is more sinister: Actually, the police were out to get drug dealers.
OK, I have two things to explain. First, how can we know what motivated the police? Second, why is animus toward drug dealers worse than animus toward blacks? Let me take these one at a time.

Media and Globalization
What about content? Like everywhere else, there's been a shift here in coverage patterns: entertainment, titillation, selective scandal busting. Where does that leave journalism of the sort that used to record contemporary reality or people's lives?

But with the US media, in England and Europe, it's quite clear. News content is declining and narrowing and getting homogenised. So the European press now seems increasingly a pale copy of the New York Times and the Washington Post. It's just like with TV news stations. There's much less funding going into reporting altogether. It gets marginalised.

Now if you're the owner of Westinghouse, a mega-corporation, and a huge advertiser, that's what you want.

Chasnoff's film indicts the multi-billion-dollar corporation on two counts: failing to clean up the site of the Hanford Nuclear Reservation in Washington state, and knowingly poisoning workers with asbestos and radiation at the Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory in Schenectady, N.Y. Scenes of Hanford area residents who have had or know of birth defects and cancer are juxtaposed with the familiar jingle: "GE: We bring good things to life."

US: The Case Against General Electric
General Electric has a lengthy record of criminal, civil, political and ethical transgressions, some of them shocking.

Hemp "Eats" Chernobyl Waste, Offers Hope For Hanford
Winter 1998-99 by Elaine Charkowski
Central Oregon Green Pages

An explosion at a nuclear reactor on April 26th, 1986 in Chernobyl, Ukraine created the world's worst nuclear disaster - so far.

The blast heavily contaminated agricultural lands in a 30 km radius around the reactor. The few people still living there must monitor their food and water for radiation. However the combination of a new technology (phytoremediation) and an old crop (industrial hemp) may offer the Ukraine a way to decontaminate it's radioactive soil.

In 1998, Consolidated Growers and Processors (CGP), PHYTOTECH, and the Ukraine's Institute of Bast Crops began what may be one of the most important projects in history - the planting of industrial hemp for the removal of contaminants in the soil near Chernobyl.

Chernobyl may seem distant, but the EPA estimates that there are more than 30,000 sites requiring hazardous waste treatment throughout the U.S. including Hanford and Three Mile Island.

Phytoremediation with industrial hemp could be used at many of these sites. Unfortunantly, the U.S. government refuses to legalize the cultivation of industrial hemp and clings to the obsolete myth that it is a drug.

A follow-up to my earlier work, "Cannabis Hemp: the Invisible Prohibition Revealed," which I wrote and published in support of the Galbraith Campaign. Since publication of that booklet, there has been growing public acceptance of the evidence that Marijuana Prohibition was created in 1937, not to protect society from the "evils of the drug Marijuana," as the Federal government claimed, but as an act of deliberate economic and industrial sabotage against the re-emerging Industrial Hemp Industry.

To clearly understand the circumstances which existed during the 1930s and 1940s, and are the subject of this booklet, it would be helpful to first put the hemp / petrochemical conflict into historical perspective. The events which took place in the years leading up to World War II were a continuation of a struggle between agricultural and industrial interests that began before the American Revolution, a struggle which has yet to be decided, even today. Plan Colombia is like a go ahead to the DEAth squads of Colombia.

Massacres are blamed on the so called "paramilitaries" rather than the regular army, this is a distinction without a difference. Paramilitaries are just an "extension of the state. The Paramilitaries act as a glove so the military leaves no fingerprints at the crime.

There were 27 massacres in January of 2001. More than 200 civilians reportedly killed.

The Hypocrisy of the Peace Process
March 4, 2002 by Garry M. Leech
The Washington-Bogotá axis and the mainstream media in both the United States and Colombia have blamed the rebel Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) for the collapse of the peace process. President Andrés Pastrana used the FARC's ongoing military activities during negotiations as justification for ordering the Colombian military's invasion of the rebel safe haven. But while the FARC has been repeatedly condemned for continuing to wage war outside the rebel zone, few questioned the fact that the Colombian military and the paramilitaries were doing exactly the same thing.

"Military contractors, Sikorsky among them, were the primary lobbyists for the aid package."
There you have it. Just the problem Eisenhower warned us about. Too bad nobody is listening, but war is good for business.

"To say that our sending military aid to Colombia is not promoting these massacres is fantasy,"

This statement will be discounted, coming as it does from a peacenik, but he is absolutely correct. We should not be there. A more progressive European Union is avoiding Plan Colombia as the festering sinkhole that it represents. I hope to see massive dissent against this expensive, dangerous, ecocical farce.

In 2003 congress passed an astronomical 401 billion dollar defense budget for 2004. Not including money for the war in Iraq. Of these billions and billions of dollars of our money, a huge chunk of it is dished out to companies like Lockheed Martin, Boeing, Northrop Grumman, General Electric, and Raytheon to build the us arsenal's newest generation of weapons technology.

Today, only three companies, Viacom (CBS and UPN), General Electric (NBC-Vivendi) and Walt Disney(ABC and ESPN) reach more than 50 percent of the prime-time television audience through over-the-air and cable broadcasts. With the addition of News Corp. (FOX), AOL/Time-Warner (WB, HBO and CNN), five companies have control over an estimated 80 percent of TV broadcasts. (Wall Street Journal, Sept. 15, 2003) This Big Five also now owns 20 of the top 25 cable channels.

Masked Racism: Reflections on the Prison Industrial Complex
by Angela Y. Davis, ColorLines September 1st, 1998
Imprisonment has become the response of first resort to far too many of the social problems that burden people who are ensconced in poverty. These problems often are veiled by being conveniently grouped together under the category "crime" and by the automatic attribution of criminal behavior to people of color. Homelessness, unemployment, drug addiction, mental illness, and illiteracy are only a few of the problems that disappear from public view when the human beings contending with them are relegated to cages.

Currently, the stocks of both CCA and WCC are doing extremely well. Between 1996 and 1997, CCA's revenues increased by 58 percent, from $293 million to $462 million. Its net profit grew from $30.9 million to $53.9 million. WCC raised its revenues from $138 million in 1996 to $210 million in 1997. Unlike public correctional facilities, the vast profits of these private facilities rely on the employment of non-union labor.

The Prison Industrial Complex

But private prison companies are only the most visible component of the increasing corporatization of punishment. Government contracts to build prisons have bolstered the construction industry. The architectural community has identified prison design as a major new niche. Technology developed for the military by companies like Westinghouse are being marketed for use in law enforcement and punishment.

Moreover, corporations that appear to be far removed from the business of punishment are intimately involved in the expansion of the prison industrial complex. Prison construction bonds are one of the many sources of profitable investment for leading financiers such as Merrill Lynch. MCI charges prisoners and their families outrageous prices for the precious telephone calls which are often the only contact prisoners have with the free world.

Deaths in the United States in a typical year are as follows
* Tobacco/chemical (products) kill about 400,000
* Alcohol kills about 80,000
* Workplace accidents kill 60,000
* Automobiles kill 40,000
* Cocaine kills about 2,500
* Heroin kills about 2,000
* Aspirin kills about 2,000
* Marijuana kills 0

Drug Financing Link To 9/11?
posted by mayan on August 12, 2006
"For al-Qaeda it's hard" to prove a link, said DEA public affairs chief Garrison Courtney. "I don't think we're saying 9/11 was caused by drug financing. But we're saying there is a link between drugs and terror, and September 11 is a poignant example of terrorism. Terrorists don't hold bake sales to raise money."

They are most certainly implying that 9/11 was caused by drug financing! I guess there is truth to that as the Bushistas are arguably the biggest illicit drug dealers on the planet.

And terrorists don't need to hold bake sales. They raise most of their money by taxing the citizenry.

Drug-Terror Connection Disputed By Kari Lydersen

A photograph of President Bush waving a flag after the Sept. 11 attacks is juxtaposed against a black-and-white image of an African American mother smoking crack cocaine in bed next to her baby. Larger-than-life portraits of Osama bin Laden and Pablo Escobar line the walls. The central message of a traveling Drug Enforcement Administration exhibit unveiled at Chicago's Museum of Science and Industry yesterday is that terrorism and drugs are inextricably linked.

The Racist Ganjawar

Protecting Special Interests

As the AMA's Dr. Woodward had asserted, the government's testimony before Congress in 1937 had in fact consisted almost entirely of Hearst's and other sensational and racist newspaper articles read aloud by Harry J. Anslinger,* director of the Federal Bureau of Narcotics (FBN). (This agency has since evolved into the Drug Enforcement Administration [DEA]).

*Harry J. Anslinger was director of the new Federal Bureau of Narcotics from its inception in 1931 for the next 31 years, and was only forced into retirement in 1962 by President John F. Kennedy after Anslinger tried to censor the publications and publishers of Professor Alfred Lindsmith (The Addict and the Law, Washington Post, 1961) and to blackmail and harass his employer, Indiana University. Anslinger had come under attack for racist remarks as early as 1934 by a U.S. senator from Pennsylvania, Joseph Guffey, for such things as referring to "ginger-colored niggers" in letters circulated to his department heads on FBN stationery.

Prior to 1931, Anslinger was Assistant U.S. Commissioner for Prohibition. Anslinger, remember, was hand-picked to head the new Federal Bureau of Narcotics by his uncle-in-law, Andrew Mellon, Secretary of the Treasury under President Herbert Hoover. The same Andrew Mellon was also the owner and largest stockholder of the sixth largest bank (in 1937) in the United States, the Mellon Bank in Pittsburgh, one of only two bankers for DuPont* from 1928 to the present.

* DuPont has borrowed money from banks only twice in its entire 190-year history, once to buy control of General Motors in the 1920s. Its banking business is the prestigious plum of the financial world.

In 1937, Anslinger testified before Congress saying, "Marijuana is the most violence-causing drug in the history of mankind."
This, along with Anslinger's outrageous racist statements and beliefs, was made to the southern dominated congressional committee and is now an embarrassment to read in its entirety.

For instance, Anslinger kept a "Gore File," culled almost entirely from Hearst and other sensational tabloids - e.g., stories of axe murders, where one of the participants reportedly smoked a joint four days before committing the crime.

Anslinger pushed on Congress as a factual statement that about 50% of all violent crimes committed in the U.S. were committed by Spaniards, Mexican-Americans, Latin Americans, Filipinos, African-Americans and Greeks, and these crimes could be traced directly to marijuana.

(From Anslinger's own records given to Pennsylvania State University, ref.; Li Cata Murders, etc.)
Not one of Anslinger's marijuana "Gore Files" of the 1930s is believed to be true by scholars who have painstakingly checked the facts.

More like cell phones are linked to terrorism more so than cannabis use or real drugs. There are a few Texans in Michigan right now who purchased 30 day cell phones for some suspect activity.

Cell phones are the culprits in many car accidents

"A study from researchers at the University of Utah, published in the summer 2006 issue of Human Factors, the quarterly journal of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society, concludes that talking on a cell phone while driving is as dangerous as driving drunk, even if the phone is a hands-free model. An earlier study by researchers at the university found that motorists who talked on hands-free cell phones were 18 percent slower in braking and took 17 percent longer to regain the speed they lost when they braked."

Cannabis and Driving

Buying gas is supporting terrorism. It has been postulated that the oil companies may have hired the terrorist to have a direct effect on the price of oil. Oil companies do stand to gain the mostest with all of this war on terror.

With Exxon/Mobil making insane profits in a single quarter, they are then suspect too.

Cannabis use is a scapegoat.
The real demons are going scott-free.
500 billion dollars spent in Iraq isn't chump change. It can't go on.

Placing the blame on cannabis is a ruse, a red herring, a lie, a falsification by none other than the prevaricators themselves. They can't be happy. They're just confused.

From Whom Did the Fascists Get Support?
Italian fascism and German Nazism had their admirers within the U.S. business community and the corporate owned press. Bankers, publishers, and industrialists, including the likes of Henry Ford, traveled to Rome and Berlin to pay homage, receive medals, and strike profitable deals. Many did their utmost to advance the Nazi war effort, sharing military industrial secrets and engaging in secret transactions with the Nazi government, even after the United States entered the war. During the 1920s and early 1930s, major publications like Fortune, the Wall Street Journal, Saturday Evening Post, New York Times, Chicago Tribune, and Christian Science Monitor hailed Mussolini as the man who rescued Italy from anarchy and radicalism.

1936: DuPont obtains a patent license to manufacture synthetic "plastic fibers" from German industrial giant I.G. Farben Corporation. The patent license is obtained as part Germany's reparation payments to the United States after World War I. A few years later, I.G. Farben manufactures deadly Zyklon-B gas, used in Nazi death camps to murder millions of Jews (along with many homosexuals and drug users). DuPont owned and financed approximately 30% of Hitler's I.G. Corps, the military-industrial backbone of the fascist Third Reich.

"Fascism is on the march today in America. Millionaires are marching to the tune. It will come in this country unless a strong defense is set up by all liberal and progressive forces... A clique of U.S. industrialists is hell-bent to bring a fascist state to supplant our democratic government, and is working closely with the fascist regime in Germany and Italy. Aboard ship a prominent executive of one of America's largest financial corporations told me point blank that if the progressive trend of the Roosevelt administration continued, he would be ready to take definite action to bring fascism to America."
