DEA's War on Chronic Pain Doctors and Patients

I would like to start a discussion about the DEA practicing medicine without a license or training. Thanks to their 10+ year battle against chronic pain and doctors who treat it, millions of people like me cannot get the safe, effective medicines they need to be functioning members of society. I struggle every day to do the simple things in life, cannot work or clean my home, cannot even afford the basics in life.

Here in the Bible Belt it is impossible to find a doctor to treat chronic pain. I had to go to a psychiatrist to get help for my medical problems (including Degenerative Disk Disease, scoliosis, arthritis, sciatica, and multiple bulging disks). The pain is often so severe it makes me nauseous. I cannot do the things I need to do, much less the things I want to do. I cannot even go for a walk. My doctor told me not to pick up over 5 pounds and I said, seriously, doc, my purse weighs more than that!

The last doctor I saw (specialist) who purported to "help people in pain" required my $300 cash before the appointment, and after the x-ray tech literally cringed at seeing my x-rays, told me to go home and take Tylenol. He then added that they "did not believe in giving narcotics for chronic pain," and that "if he knew of a doctor that did, he would turn them in to the DEA."

I am lucky to get 3 mild pain pills per day and medicine for my resulting depression and anxiety. If I had enough medicine I could work and improve my situation and not be a burden on others.

Without insurance, it is nearly impossible to find a doctor who will see you, much less give you what you need. Even if I could get my doc to prescribe me a time-released medicine like Oxycontin, I could not afford it as it is over $1,000 per month for the lowest dosage (the same as two 5 mg. Percocets per day). This is the exact same medicine in Percocet and Percodan, and the drug addicts only know to crush it to get it's effect all at once because it was publicized by the media!!!

I have over 15 years experience as a legal secretary and type 100 wpm but cannot get anyone to hire me. I have been trying to get a job typing or transcribing from home but no luck so far even though I am experienced in medical and legal terminology and summarizing depositions and medical records.

Contrary to popular belief even those in Alabama sometimes come around to reality, eventually. They accepted Lynard Skynard. They are also anti abortions, even those sanctioned by the ag biz, caused by what is sprayed on the crops. It's Archeology that proves Jesus either inhaled the hashish incense or held his breath for hours at a time while in the Temple. Once for three days! Now that's the kyndbud. Having access to hemp products or at least web sites, will show the reason Ganja is prohibited. How many think cops should be wasting time eradicating ditchweed canvas and gunny sacks in the name of keeping kids off drugs.

I don't think rednecks like being duped anymore than anyone else. Or spied on. Even the gung ho war mongers turn a blind eye to Willie Nelson's bus. The medicinal studies generally censored from school books and the TV media is getting press, and other countries re-discovering, more research not covered up by the DEAth. Research like shrinking tumors. Wonder how many Confederate loved ones have died since they hid the research in 1974? Alzheimers? Parkinson? MS, All getting favorable results with Ganja. Obesity isn't limited to rich fat Yankees. And with hemp seed being so nutritional, and Ganja curtailing the brain signals to gorge on porkfat, similar to the way it stimulates the appetite in wasting syndrome patients.

Politics only last until reality hits home. I think once the people get the truth, the Ganjawar will implode and Americans will get their remedy and cash crop to supplement the family farmers going bankrupt. Truth will set us free. Many reasons Southern Baptists would let the plant be free to grow. Just have to tell them about it.

The study examined pesticide exposures based on recall by farm families and reported histories of spontaneous abortions among women living on the farms. The study found strong evidence that a woman’s exposure to pesticides in the three months prior to conception or in the month of conception significantly increased her risk of spontaneous abortion.

Hemp can also be grown without the pesticides that are necessary for cultivation of other textiles and paper products, such as cotton which requires large amounts of pesticides and today is the most polluting of all agricultural industries. Cotton production, in fact, accounts for half the pesticide use in the US, and that product is one of the major products for which hemp could be substituted.

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger's veto of a bill to legalize the growing of industrial hemp as a valuable -- and non-intoxicating -- cash crop is a perfect example of federal control run amok . . . as if we didn't have plenty examples of that in California already. The legalization of hemp makes sense for a lot of reasons, both economically and environmentally. It grows in all kinds of conditions; serves as a rotational crop, refreshing soil nutrients; and requires no pesticides or herbicides.

Will their Southern Baptists back sliding kinfolk getting caught supplementing the family income growing a few weeds be rehabilitated by Atheists, Jewish or Islamic plea bargain law bypasses?

Given the actions of Foley, the cover-up by House leadership, and bizarre moments like this, I think it's fair to say that politicians have also lost any moral footing to claim that the drug war laws (or any other laws) they pass are... "for the children." And from now on, any time a politician suggests that having school children pee in a cup is a good idea, someone needs to ask if they're pulling a Mark Foley.

It also seems Southern Baptists have another reason to Free the Weed. Making pretty good strides over the years over coming the disease of racism, taught to them by generations of slave labor herding, requiring stigmatizing, degrading and blind obedience.
