Our very first Merchant Showcase (Feb 26th) wasn't a roaring success--but we did succeed. Arcadian Fields is now an umbrella organization helping out a bunch of local charities, businesses, artists and musicians. So please check out my Merchant Showcase page (http://members.cox.net/pateticus/showcase.html) if you'd like to give them some business or join up with the Co-Op on your own.
The following bands can also be expected at our concert at the Padded Jungle on April 20th:
Mo Rage
The FMA Band
Carpe Diem
The Musty Topographical Sleeping Bag of Loss
Hooker Picnic
Guitar soloist 'Saint' Andrew
(there will probably be a few more added as the weekend continues, so please check the website for any updates). There will be a $5 cover charge for this show and all proceeds will benefit the Arcadian Fields Co-Operative.
Proof Reads:
I hate to keep asking for proof reads, but I'm walking a lot of lines here and I don't think like Normal People, so all advice and input is welcome and probably very necessary.
One of the goals of Arcadian Fields is to educate people in how to form their own ministries (that is, organizations catered to their own unique beliefs, goals and environments--regardless of theological alignments) as a way to invest in (and improve) communities and embark on Ministry and non-profit management as a career.
In order to do this I have now included a short summary and over-view of Ministry as an Investment Opportunity, to be found at: http://members.cox.net/pateticus/quickie.html
Many of you have already seen my posts requesting your input about the Community Schooling project which will hopefully be funded by the Co-Operative that I mentioned above.
I have done extensive research into Mythology & Folklore (the science of Mithraism) and one of the things that I would like to include with that Community School is how folklore & myth can actually teach us about specific morals and values. I have focused mainly on Greek and Arcadian Mythology as a way to give Arcadian Fields sort of a unique spin and flavor.
But because of the extremely liberal attitudes that are present in some Greek Myths, I want to be very sure of the messages that I'm trying to bring to the surface through basing a Ministry around this Mythology. So if you're interested, please read: http://members.cox.net/pateticus/hermes.html and give me your feedback.
I guess that's about it. Take care and have a great day.

Again it seems your making the ministry a buisness.
I don't know how you uses the term non-profit and doing everything you can to make money all in the same sentence . _________________

You love bringing up this issue and I continue to have to clarify it.
There's a difference between making money for the self (profit, business) and making money for a community (non-profit, charity). What I am doing is about making money for the community (nonprofit, charity) and not for myself (profit, business) by representing the will of my community/culture/people--the pot smoking community.
By encouraging people to become ministers by forming their own unique ministries around their needs and beliefs, we encourage the formation of more non-profits and therefore create more chances for communities to benefit themselves. We discourage things like materialism and greed and encourage things like community spirit and involvement.
Is that clear and succinct enough for you?
