I've not posted here for quite a while but this news is to good not to pass on, after a long long sometimes agonising fight i've finally been prescribed Sativex a cannabis based medicine. I'm the first person within my Primary Care Trust to be given it outside of those that took part in the trials.
For me personally its a life changing drug that will not only ease my intense and sometimes soul destroying pain but will allow me to rejoin the work place.
If you're thinking about using it i say go for it its brilliant.

Good news, glad it helps! Me, I'll stick to extracts of my own directly from the plant. _________________ -Brother Adam (we are all one family)

Excellent news there.
Could you tell us some more about it, how you got it, how you use it, how it works on you ......... you get my drift.
Anything you can tell us is of help as there are many of us who have been waiting for this so we may benefit too. _________________ Never Trust A Hippie !

To get prescribed sativex you will need to find a specialist for your illness that is willing to do so, then in most cases they will have to put it to a panel of one sort or other within your PCT. Some will want you to try all sorts of standard treatments first and even then may well resfuse, if this happens you can appeal, its a long drawn out process, in my case it has taken years.
If you are successful you will provbably have to go through councilling for it first.
Sativex is made up as follows
Cannabis sativa extracts containing 27mg/ml delta9 THC and 25mg/ml CBD.
Each spray dispensed contains 2.7mg D9 THC and 2.5mg CBD, it also contains 50% v/v ethanol and propylene glycol, and is flavoured with peppermint oil.
It comes in 5.5ml vails with a pump head.
Although it remains unlicenced within the UK if prescribed the home office will automatically issue the relevent licence to cover the Dr/specialist the phamacist and the patient. |

ALL prescription and non-prescription drugs are designed to make profits for big pharma. ALL of them are 100% totally dangerous and should be avoided at all costs. ALL of them. They are designed to suppress symptoms, but ALL have serious negative side effects. The side effects create new conditions where more drugs can be prescribed and more symptoms will arise yet again.
There are NO SIDE EFFECTS to ANY drug. There are ONLY effects. So called "side effects" are just not the result a drug is sold for. Many drugs are relabeled to be used for numerous things based on crap science and bullshit "studies".
Anyway, propylene glycol is dangerous. Probably another cancer causing agent. Just about everything we touch today is poisoned. Here's a quip about pg:
| Quote: |
Propylene Glycol-More Health Concerns
Another common ingredient in many beauty creams, cleansers, makeup, and other cosmetics is propylene glycol. This chemical is used in industry as anti-freeze, airplane de-icer, and brake fluid. It is also used in thousands of cosmetic preparations as a delivery vehicle and solvent.
When you purchase a drum of propylene glycol from a supplier, that supplier is required to furnish an MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet). The MSDS for propylene glycol says "Avoid skin contact." We are amazed to find this same product in most skin creams on the market.
Recent findings indicate that propylene glycol has severe adverse health effects, and has been found to cause contact dermatitis, ototoxicity, kidney damage, and liver abnormalities in various clinical human and animal studies. The effects of propylene glycol are clearly more than skin deep. Propylene glycol has shown measurable toxicity to human cells in culture(16). It has been shown to inhibit skin cell growth in human tests,(17) and cell respiration in animal tests. When tested in guinea pigs and chinchillas, eardrops containing propylene glycol caused irreversible deafness, tissue and bone degradation, and morphological changes to the middle ear(18,19). Propylene glycol caused mytotoxic (skeletal muscular damage) effects in rats(20,21) and rabbits(22). PG is reported to directly alter cell membranes, to cause contact allergies and dermatitis(24), to cause skin thickening(25) and skin dehydration and chronic surface damage(26).
Propylene glyco poisoning has been reported to induce seizures in epileptics(27,2 and cardiorespiratory arrest(28,29). One study "advise(s) caution when propylene glycol is employed as a vehicle in clinical use"(30). In another study on PG ingestion in cats, researchers reported encephalopathy, depression. and ataxia. The similarities of PG absorption in cats and humans was noted, and the report stated: "These findings are significant not only for animals ingesting diets which contain propylene glycol, but for humans who receive propylene glycol-containing medications"(31)
PG and Premature Skin Aging
The science of skin biology has advanced substantially since propylene glycol was first introduced to cosmetics over 30 years ago, and yet PG is still the major ingredient in most skin creams, regardless of cost, market share, or "natural" claims. New findings suggest that using PG and other occlusive (filming) ingredients on the skin actually ages the skin prematurely. Estimates are that skin ages at least 13 years for every 10 years these types of products are used.
Fortunately, products are now being developed based on scientific breakthroughs to reverse environmental and aging damage to the skin, and to support the biology of the skin as a living organ. This approach is returning rapid results in skin healing, wrinkle diminishment, and other problems of aging skin (sagging skin, eye bags, etc.).
You won't find these products in department stores any time soon, however. Many formulas with these new and often exotic ingredients are exclusive to a single manufacturer, and the expense of these breakthroughs is prohibitive for the major manufacturer. Fortunately, there are independent manufacturers beginning to bring these advances to market.

That's the link. There is more info there about other things like sodium laurel sulfate which is in just about every product in your house.
We are being poisoned to death. If you're not eating whole 100% organic food, and using natural organic cleaning products, filtering your water, etc then you are being poisoned at EVERY turn.
For instance, brushing your teeth. The tube says if you swallow a pea size amount of toothpaste to call poison control because of the flouride. However, one 8oz glass of tap water has as much flouride as that dab of toothpaste, and they tell you drink EIGHT glasses of that a day!!
I will stick to cannabis in it's natural form. They couldn't patent the plant, but they can patent "sativex" and make BILLIONS......and they will make BILLIONS.
ANY drug from big pharma, prescription, non-prescription, is a SCAM.
Here are sativex's side effects. Does this sound like cannabis to you?????

Contact your doctor if you experience these side effects and they are severe or bothersome. Your pharmacist may be able to advise you on managing side effects.
abdominal pain
constipation
cough
diarrhea
dizziness
dry mouth
flushing
forgetfulness, poor concentration
headache
heartburn
increased appetite
mood changes
nausea
sore throat
soreness or stinging sensation in mouth
thirst
tiredness
unusual taste in the mouth
vomiting
weakness
Although most of the side effects listed below don't happen very often, they could lead to serious problems if you do not check with your doctor or seek medical attention.
Check with your doctor as soon as possible if any of the following side effects occur:
falls, or difficulty with balance
intoxication (a feeling of being drunk; difficulty paying attention; dizziness; sleepiness; disorientation; changes in mood; a feeling of unreality; or a feeling of general happiness or a "high," such as easy laughter or heightened awareness)
loss of appetite
severe dizziness
severe tiredness
Stop taking the medication and seek immediate medical attention if any of the following occur:
blurred vision
confusion
fainting
hallucinations (seeing, hearing, or feeling things that are not there) or strange ideas
mouth sores
rapid heartbeat
signs of a severe allergic reactions (e.g., hives; difficulty breathing; or swelling of the tongue, face, mouth, or throat)

That is a SICK ass list of side effects. No thanks. I'll smoke a bowl. Pain goes away. Nothing else happens. Nausea goes away with real cannabis, what help is it if that's a side effect? There's more at that link, but you can easily search and see for yourself.
Don't take my word for it. ALL prescription and non-prescription drugs are DESIGNED TO CAUSE DISEASE. This is how the drug companies MAKE THEIR MONEY. They are NOT interested in your HEALTH or CURES. Just profits.
Follow the dollar, la la la. _________________ -Brother Adam (we are all one family)

Managing means more drugs, it's like the gateway effect.

This is a cardinal sin. One is not to be happy.

Not a problem friends. Cancer, heart disease, etc are serious killers now days, and it's funny because 100 years ago they were NOT.
There is so much synthetic bullshit around us, it's shocking when you realize just how bad it is.
It's like I read somewhere "you don't get a headache because of a deficiency in aspirin".
All of that shit is categorically 100% lethal, and causes disease and illness. 100% of all pharmacueticals, over the counter or not. Then you have your everyday stuff. Go look at the soap you wash your dishes with, your clothes. Look at your shampoo, toothpaste, and everything else in your cabinet. Here we bathe and shower our skin (largest organ in our body) with not only these ridiculous products, but even the water. A hot shower vaporizes a lot of the chlorine and stuff in the water, and when the skin is hot, the pores are open, so simply taking a shower we douse ourselves HEAVILY with cancer causing agents both by breathing in the vapors, and absorbtion through the skin.
GET A SHOWER FILTER. Drink only 100% PURIFIED water by reverse osmosis or other means. I can recommend Aquafina water, which is thoroughly filtered 0ppm water. Eat 100% WHOLE ORGANIC FOODS as much as possible and avoid ALL others. The vegetables at the super market are all GM crops sprayed with tons of pesticides and fed with chemical fertilizers. It takes 5 apples today to equal the nutrition of 1 apple from 100 years ago. _________________ -Brother Adam (we are all one family)
