The "Pope of Pot", or as I'm told he is better known as in the Hollywood Cannabis scene; "Weazel of Pot" has had his appeal rejected.
Not because of his religious use, but because of setting up shop and selling weed.
As I have said many times before, people who believe in God-and-the-bible first and use the Cannabis-and-religion-connection as an excuse for their recreational use or, like CraigX Rubin, to sell weed while converting people to the bible while at it, are not sincere Kantheists and in fact have no clue what being a sincere Kantheist is really about. They are often just opportunists, misguided, or in CraigX Rubin's case, sharlatans.
I exposed him years ago for the scam artist that he is, an evangelical scam artist that is, but a scam artist nevertheless.
He clairly demonstrated that when he testified himself;

Quote:
Appellant testified that "I have been involved in the cannabis movement for years and I felt like a lot of people worship pot and they think pot can heal them. And I don't believe that. I believe God does the healing, that Jesus heals people and pot makes them feel better." (Emphasis added.)
The court concluded rightfully that;
Quote:
the ceremonial use of marijuana is not the sine qua non of appellant's faith and religious beliefs. Appellant was prosecuted for selling and possessing marijuana for sale, not its ceremonial use.
As I said years ago when he launched his enterprise with much self-injected media attention; People like CraigX Rubin make people like us look bad, they give our religion a bad name.
Here's what I found about the case at the Drugs Law Blog;
http://druglaw.typepad.com/drug_law_blog/2008/12/people-v-rubin-on-religious-freedom-to-sell-marijuana.html
Now don't get me wrong, I'm not pleased about CraigX Rubin's arguments being rejected, when the Catholic church can sell "holy stuff" to its members to raise money I think that this should be legal for any other religion too. What makes me find this a rightful court desision in this case is the simple fact that CraigX Rubin doesn't find any healing properties to Cannabis, according to him that's Jesus doing the healing, well and he clearly admitted that Cannabis is not essential for his beliefs.
Let Jesus help him to stay out of jail for selling weed I'd say, or the Pope. _________________ █ Please read the Board Rules and Posting, and you

Yes, and I will continue to say that Craig X is a straw man. If you notice, they almost never convict against religious use, always some other reason, but it STILL makes us look bad. Watch how much time he does, IF ANY. _________________ -Brother Adam (we are all one family)

Police officers acquitted for beating a 64 yr old man recently in New Orleans. In the words of their defense attorney "all he had to do was comply"....and they wouldn't have fractured his face. |
