its funny but, when i think of 'Americans' i dont think of bush and that gang of fascists sitting isolated in their ivory towers.

i dont think of the cia , nsa , fbi etc...etc...

i dont think of the giant multi-national corporations swallowing up the world and turning us all into 'worker ants'.

i think of ordinary , decent , honourable people.

i think of people who have the courage , dignity and humanity to stand up for civil liberties , justice , freedom and the 'little guy or gal'.

i think of people like the geniuses who concieved the American Constitution.

i think of people like Reverend Dr.Martin Luther King.

people who stand up and say "no.this is wrong" when they are faced with injustice.

people like ms.Sheehan.

there has been thousands of people like this throughout the history of the USA .too numerous to mention.

people like those one might 'meet' right here at our Ministry.

all races , religions , creeds , colours , beliefs , sizes and shapes .

and yet,all the same.

all just people.

in the end we all laugh , cry , love , hate.

we all bleed the same colour blood when we are wounded.

REAL Americans.REAL people.

all life is precious.

Thinking of it, you make a very good point here brother. The American people are faced with the same problem today, as our German brothers and sisters had during the days that their government was spreading fascism and violence into the world. They are regarded as responcible for their governments actions, specially because their homeland is regarded as a democratical system.

I remember the days that Russia was communist and in those days not many people in the world hated "russians" because of their government's actions simply because it was very clear for the rest of the world to see that the people did not live in a system that allowed them to make changes. The world knew that Russia was a dictatorship and that opposition was violently silenced in the USSR.

Reason that the world didn't hate the russian people was that the world felt pitty for those people.

The problem that the American people face today is that the majority of the world does not see that America is a dictatorship. The world, in general, does not feel pitty for American people, many people all over the world do, but those are only the few well informed people and far from a 'critical mass'.

I hope that our brothers and sisters in America will find a way to unite against the forces that rule that nation at present times because I fear that they will end up just as oppressed as the people in the old USSR were if they don't.

Thank you, both...it's good to know that more folks are seeing the big picture.

It's been a learning experience, that's for sure. World War II had just ended four years before I was born. I remember as a little kid hearing grown-ups wonder, aloud, how the German people could have allowed such a thing...

Now...it's easy to see how. Control of information, with heavy doses of fear-propadanda combined with humans' monkey-brain need for a feeling of safety and security...

People will only "know" what they want to know...and can go into a powerful form of denial when confronted with opposing information... their very reality model becomes threatened, they'll defend that model, ignoring any facts to the contrary.

It's easy to fall into despair, if you let it get to ya...and it's so essential to maintain a vision of hope that this can, somehow, be salvaged.

We're in a period of human history where we are at a tremendous cross-roads...where an older, dysfunctional paradigm is dying, and a new consciousness is taking root.

We are in a transition period, like those that occured during the developement of agriculture and the establishement of permanent human settlements...or like the Industrial Revolution.

This rEVOLUTION, however, is just as huge and sweeping and is taking place in human consciousness...

...and such times of transition are turbulent and unsettling. The old paradigm fights violently for it's own survival, and the new consciousness is just being formed and is not yet defined.

At least we are assured of this: it will not be boring.

Bliss,
Ben

It did seem to me during my travels in Europe that the British (in and out of U.K.) seemed to tolerate Americans more than others.

Maybe its because of the common tongue.

Or maybe they realize that their laundry ain't that much cleaner than America's! :-)

P.S. Got some quantity of 'Dro brought to my door special delivery just a minute ago. Nice buds but with a little shake - probably flaked off the buds (usually there's no shake). Very RESINY and very SWEET (deep cherry) smelling. Last Saturday I was at a party and two people from Oregon and California tried some stuff from the same guy and they were sure it was bud from B.C. They were IMPRESSED. I'll let you guys know how this batch tastes.
