I didn't see anything wrong...(note sarcasm) I remember when this happened and all the reports of "someone threw a bottle".......Now we know the TRUTH.

Dear Ferre,

I am actually not surprised by this footage in Portland. I have first hand knowledge of the Government's visceral need for power at any cost to the American citizen. Unfortunately, the American People I meet, cannot understand, that the people in these protests are actually fine upstanding people. Some of the very same people who were in the Vietnam era, are the exact same people carrying out these atrocities. I am afraid America has become like the every farm animal, besides the Pigs, in the great classic "Animal Farm". I pray that our country will revive its own values, equality, justice, freedom to worship, and freedom to express dissent with our government.

Jessica, I like your name, and I think we all hope for the same things...the question is will the awakening happen before it's too late? What's shocking is that the lights haven't even gone off for the majority. It's like they've been un-plugged. The general public is happy with their gas guzzling SUV's, American Idol, Disney Land, and reproducing like nobody's noticed that just the shear number of people are starting to act like a plague on the planet that supports us...but don't let me get off on a tangent. Cool

Someone mention "Animal Farm"?

Let me capitalize on this opportunity and try to push many of you here to read the fantastic essays of George Orwell.

For easy reference, some are located here:

I am not sure if it is the majority of Americans that think about the topics we are discussing. I do, however, believe with a very strong certainty, that the majority of Americans, do not do their duty as Citizens and vote. Americans need to voice their opinions, it is not unpatriotic to voice dissent. I am fairly sure "Fear of Big Brother" plays a huge role in people not becoming involed in the Constitutional process. I know I have been silent for quite a few years, however, I will soon be able to become involved in whatever cause I choose. It infuriates me how many Americans do not vote, we preach Democracy all over the world, and yet, we cannot find the time to follow our own advice come election day. It is almost to late for our country, we are getting to the point we cannot even pay the interest back on our loans from China, Japan, and elsewhere. America is going to have to declare Bankruptcy soon, and no, there is no consumer consultant to help make paying pay back our loans any easier. I just ask that every one reading this actually participates in the Democratic Process, who knows, we might be able to become as Fiscally sound again, like when Clinton left the Whitehouse.

P.S. If you really support our troops you would vote, because they want to be able to come home. Some Marines are now doing their 5th tour in Iraq. Each tour is over 15 months long, and it sucks my own husband has been gone over 14.

Indeed, more, much more people should vote in the US, and they should vote for a third party, we all know that both dems and reps are the same corrupted trash and both are puppets from the same master.

I'm sorry to hear about your husband sister Jessica, may he come home soon, and healthy.

Yes, well said a third party would be great I just wish we could get name regonition for a candidate other than Ralph Nader. Don't get me wrong, I think he is a great guy, I look to him as a role model, he just is such a polorizing figure. I would vote for Gore even though he is a Dem, only because he has always been onboard with the Enviroment. I thank you for your kind words for my husband, he is safe in the US, I am waiting for him to be released, so he can come home. He is also against this war, but he is a good soldier.

I will not vote for an illusion of choice.

I will not vote for the independents, until they combine the splinter groups and act in a common interest.

I will not have my vote wasted.

I will, however, continue projects like my online media project, and encourage others to do the same, so the Independents, dissidents, freethinkers, and minorities will have equal power over the electorate.

If you think the Democrats are the lesser of two evils, I have a suggestion for you.

Beat your head against your refrigerator as hard as you can.

Repeat.

After your head starts to feel a little better.......

Repeat.

Keep the process going until you finally understand that you are beating your head against a solid object that will not move, and certainly, will not respond to your concerns.

If you still do not get it.......

Repeat.

Ralph Nader is a spineless piece of dung, in my very humble opinion.

You can find much on him through searching the internet.

He is a labor crusher, and has the personality of a breadstick.

Smile Smile Smile

Don't take the forceful personality the wrong way.

I'm just trying to generate useful, thought provoking, discussion.

I would like to trust Gore, but perhaps it just a personal problem of my own.

But if it walks like a duck, quacks like one, well......nevermind. lol.

Holy smokes! I literally just typed almost the same thing about puppet masters in another thread 10 seconds before I read this post......what kind of voodoo is that? (theme from twighlight zone fades in)...... Laughing

I think something totally different has to happen than just voting for what's available. To even squeeze in one or two good people into office won't do any good. The government needs completely re-structured. Squashed down to a managable size (read, nearly non-existant) and started over. I'm not saying anything about the constitution, just the govt. The constitution needs a bit of fat trimming from the past couple hundred years of slowly editing out it's FOUNDING principles, but the constitution should stand.

I say we are far beyond voting. It's time for a complete redress of grievances. The government is far too large and has literally gotten to the point of dictatorship. We live in a police state where legislators spend day after day after day coming up with new things we are not allowed to do. This is not what this country what meant to be...You look at any given time how many different regulations, bills, and laws are on the docket for congress and the senate. Some rageddy old dudes sit around all day picking away at what little freedoms we have left...How long do you think you can make laws before everyone is in jail?

More than just our govt needs changing though. Our whole way of life on this entire planet needs changed. As long as there is a such thing as money in this world there will never be peace. Life wasn't meant to be this complicated, and it doesn't have to be. Mankind needs to take a step back and realize we got it all wrong. Slaving your days away to pay for fancy cars, diamond rings, trips to disney, dinner at mcdonalds. These are all a farce we've been tricked in to believing we really need.

The only things we really need are food, shelter, clothing (optional), peace amongst all men, and true unity that has no bounds like borders, skin color, or spoken language. I'm starting to get the picture of what life is really supposed to be. Eden is not just a dream or a fairy tale. It's what we are supposed to have here on earth...Utopia has been possible this whole time, yet with all of our intelligence we have failed to realize it...and with all the marketing and hype thrown in our faces every day, many, I'm afraid, never will realize it.

Thanks for listening.

The system is so perfect is is frightening.

What happens when a man of peace rises up?

"Talks" of World Peace. Crushing Nationalism. Talking of how all men are the same. Bleed Red. Eyes, Ears, Nose, Hands, Legs, you name it.

What about this person, who will call for a united world? a united, government?

He will be labeled the anti-christ.

And the people will more than likely, rebel against his perfectly logical, and perfectly humane ideas.

Fear is the mind killer my friends.

And it is deeply entrenched.

A mind twisting paradigm shift is in desperate need.
