Congressman Threatens Islamic Holy Sites
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/07/18/AR2005071800284.html

The Associated Press Monday, July 18, 2005; 8:25 AM

DENVER -- A Colorado congressman told a radio show host that the U.S. could "take out" Islamic holy sites if Muslim fundamentalist terrorists attacked the country with nuclear weapons.

Rep. Tom Tancredo made his remarks Friday on WFLA-AM in Orlando, Fla. His spokesman stressed he was only speaking hypothetically.

Talk show host Pat Campbell asked the Littleton Republican how the country should respond if terrorists struck several U.S. cities with nuclear weapons.

"Well, what if you said something like _ if this happens in the United States, and we determine that it is the result of extremist, fundamentalist Muslims, you know, you could take out their holy sites," Tancredo answered.

"You're talking about bombing Mecca," Campbell said.

"Yeah," Tancredo responded.

The congressman later said he was "just throwing out some ideas" and that an "ultimate threat" might have to be met with an "ultimate response."

Spokesman Will Adams said Sunday the four-term congressman doesn't support threatening holy Islamic sites but that Tancredo was grappling with the hypothetical situation of a terrorist strike deadlier than the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks.

"We have an enemy with no uniform, no state, who looks like you and me and only emerges right before an attack. How do we go after someone like that?" Adams said.

"What is near and dear to them? They're willing to sacrifice everything in this world for the next one. What is the pressure point that would deter them from their murderous impulses?" he said.

Tancredo is known in the House for his tough stand on immigration and had a 100 percent rating last year from the American Conservative Union his votes and positions on issues.

Mohammad Noorzai, coordinator of the Colorado Muslim Council and a native of Afghanistan, said Tancredo's remarks were radical and unrepresentative but that people in Tancredo's position need to watch their words when it comes to sacred religious sites and texts.

Of course. That should take the wind out of their sails. Good idea. Rolling Eyes

So this is how it ends, huh? The sick CIA or Homeland will get nukes in the hands of an extremist and kill hundreds of thousands if not millions of innocent just so they can have an excuse to say, "See? Our god is superior to yours." as they destroy holy sites. Thus, conveniently opening up the door for the construction of the 3rd Temple. The backlash from such an act will spell a doomsday scenario.

A stupid idea for a stupid idea leads to end of God's most evolved.

Holy sites have always been a no no for the US. In WWII we specifically avoided bombing Kyoto because of the religious significance to the Japanese. Depsite the fact that countless churches were flatened by the allies, we did not specifically go after them. See now, the honor of this administration as they plan to abandon the things that have made America sacred. Great job Jr. Safe in your big house, confident that the people will be paying the price for your crimes. A bit of advice Mr. President. When judgement day comes for you, make sure to clear your throat and brush your teeth, your going to be doing a lot of wailing and a lot of gnashing!

Uh...Did I miss something? Do they love us now?

I haven't heard any of them saying "Allah Bless America" as it is.

After very careful study, America's leaders decided to drop the atomic bomb over Hiroshima at 8:15 am, 6 Aug 1945, a time when they knew many people would be attending services in a christian church almost directly beneath the nuclear explosion. Thus, having a greater psychological effect as the survivors would eventually realize that even God could not save them.

There is absolutely no excuse for the use of nuclear weapons, especially against civilians whether directly or indirectly (fallout, psychological).

ANY USE OF NUKES IS THE ULTIMATE TERRORIST ACT.

Yes, Brother Shamash, I guess you have missed something. Do not allow the illusion of Us & Them to cloud your vision. We are nothing but the characters of an illaborate play which God wrote and stars in. There is but one actor playing all the parts. God.

We are all brothers. Cool
