From the BBC:
An article about the risks of mental health problems with cannabis.

Drug 'doubles mental health risk'
The study asked people about their cannabis use
Smoking cannabis virtually doubles the risk of developing mental illnesses such as schizophrenia, researchers say.
The New Zealand scientists said their study suggested this was probably due to chemical changes in the brain which resulted from smoking the drug.
The study, published in the journal Addiction, followed over 1,000 people born in 1977 for 25 years.
UK mental health campaigners said it was more evidence of a "drug-induced mental health crisis"...... |

[insert PAUL HARVEY V/O here]...and now, the REST of the story...
MENTAL HEALTH: Cannabis as a Treatment
Recent research has debunked the myth about cannabis contributing to schizophrenia. In fact, reports indicate that some mental health problems may be helped by cannabis. Many patients using cannabis to treat chronic pain, MS and other ailments that frequently produce reactive depression have noted that the marijuana doesn't just treat their primary symptoms, it lifts their spirits.
"I think cannabis has a lot of potential in the treatment of mental illness," says Lester Grinspoon, emeritus professor of psychiatry at the Harvard School of Medicine. He says that it can be an effective treatment for bipolar disorder and depression. Like any medicine, he cautions, it won't work for everyone. Grinspoon has, over the last three decades, been one of the few psychiatrists willing to speak publicly on mental marijuana.

Too true. If a person has a lot of substances in their system, and one of them happens to be cannabis, then whatever the issue is, becomes "cannabis related."

Yea, it's kinda like having any amount of 'black blood' in you...no matter how small the percentage, you're considered a black person.
