New to Religion - an oldie with Herb

I'm a new Christian, but I'm having problems concering pot. I quit smoking the cigs, gave up most of my other bad habits but I find myself fighting a constant battle if smoking herb and being a Christian go together. I've prayed over this many times, don't have anyone I trust to talk with in the Church and I'm frankly just lost. I know God put everything here for a reason, but I know the Bible says to follow society's rules. Now, I could probably get a card here in Oregon making it "say" I'm legal, but that's not the point. Can I continue to get close to God and Smoke pot too. Please help! I'm all or nothing. Thanks.

Very warm welcome to our forums scott.

I read this before and i have been thinking if this specific question must be answered only by christians as i know it is a bit easier to understand for those that could answer, suggest or comment etc. on such matter being christian oriented that it is able to cover that peticular subject but i think that it could be answered by even gnostics or any similar faith and most of us though for that matter having the knowledge of science (including the uses and everything of the sacred sacrament cannabis on the body plus more in that field) along with history and traditional religious excersise/practices.

We also have quite alot of extensive research here on the boards and much more very valuable information that can help on so many with our sacrament and the many different faiths that are specifically oriented.

I sincerely apoligize if this is a bit run on at the moment here

I would like to go on a little bit more but i do not want to go too far though on the subject unless i for certain know that i am welcome to do so with such sincere respect i have.

it is good to have you amounst us.as you can see , all are welcome here , no matter what their religion or philosophy.isn't that a beautiful and refreshing thing in its own right.?

firstly let me say that i am not the right person to comment on the finer points of Christianity.While i hold it in the highest regard i am not well educated on the historical details.

forgive me if i sound patronising or if i have the finer details incorrect.it is not my intention.i speak only according to my own scant knowledge.

anyway , concerning Christianity and the religeous use of cannabis :-

Firstly , to a Christian , Jesus is the Christ , the Messiah.this is the core tenet of Christianity.but did you know that this means 'the Anointed one' or 'i am Anointed'.?

Jesus , who was Anointed , also Anointed others.there is STRONG historical evidence that Jesus Anointed and Baptised people , not with water but with a holy oil which contained extracts of cannabis amounst other ingredients.

Secondly , as a Christian , you know that our Creator has nothing but love for us and that he made all things.He would not create something that is designed to harm us , and indeed all evidence proves that cannabis is THE most useful plant on earth.its uses are spiritual as well as medicinal and practical.

Thirdly , as far as i know ,,there is NO Holy book on earth that condemns the use of the God-given gift of cannabis.

Not Christianity , Islam , Judeism , the Vedic scriptures , the Brahmin teachings , bhudism, shintoism , taoism , Shamanism in fact non of the religions or philosophies i have ever heard of condemns the use of canabis.

It is my view that cannabis is a gift to all humanity.there is a very good reason why this plant has more than 25,000 known uses.this is not an accident.

there is a very good reason that this plant can enhance the feeling of 'spirituality' and 'oneness'.

these are not accidents of nature.

anyway i am just learning about all this myself so i will shut up and let others more knowlegable than myself point you towards the answeres to your question.
