Missouri-State law has a provision that allows any city in the state to levy a tax to support a band, provided that "the mayor plays piccolo and each band member can eat peas with a knife."

Memphis - it is illegal for a woman to drive a car unless there is a man running or walking in front of it, waving a red flag to warn approaching motorists and pedestrians.
