I've gotten the application from the Department of Vital Statistics, and it seems easy enough to fill out. Maybe the three letters of refrence will take some work. But under the part of "Why do you want to apply" what would be a good, solid, possibley legal, answer? Advice please! _________________ "Work Is The Curse Of The Drinking Class."

wulpurgis,
Aloha. Thanks for asking this important question!
In the Department of Health here in Hawaii we have four basic forms for ministers to fill-out in our duties. Ministers play a part in celebrating the birth, marriage, divorce and death of some of their tribe, flock, members, etc. Of course there are other minister services, too. Baptism, communion, counselor, and more. What is your favorite? What is your specialty?
To be a credible minister one would want to comfort others with excellent personal services and real, meaningful sacraments. It's a priviledge and an honor to be able to marry people as a minister. Enjoy!
Good fortune and happy marrying,
Roger _________________ God, that's great! Please show me the blessings in this situation ... and hurry! We are safe, we are loved and all is well. |

I'd have to say that I really enjoy philosophical debates, talks and discussions. I am a political science honours student (after all). It's my specialty. I'm planning next election (c. 5 years) to run for the New Democratic Party of Canada (a left of center socialist party) in my very conservative ridding, knowing that I won't win, but hoping to enlighten people to issues and ideas. I'm all about ideas. I have a few friends with 'issues', and I enjoy to talk to them about these 'things' that most people would find tabboo, and I'm apparently good at it too. So yeah.

I live in Wisconsin & California, neither state requires our has any paper work for reverends, ministers, ect to register in order to officiate a wedding. What can I do in order to be recognized on record as a sacrament minister?

Hello there,
Aloha. Tafari wrote: "I live in Wisconsin & California, neither state requires our has any paper work for reverends, ministers, ect to register in order to officiate a wedding. What can I do in order to be recognized on record as a sacrament minister?"
Hmmm...
"What can I do to be recognized on record as a cannabis sacrament minister".
Re-cog-nized. http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/recognized
One entry found for recognize.
Main Entry: rec·og·nize
Pronunciation: 're-kig-"nIz, -k&g-
Function: transitive verb
Inflected Form(s): -nized; -niz·ing
Etymology: modification of Middle French reconoiss-, stem of reconoistre, from Latin recognoscere, from re- + cognoscere to know -- more at COGNITION
1 : to acknowledge formally: as a : to admit as being lord or sovereign b : to admit as being of a particular status c : to admit as being one entitled to be heard : give the floor to d : to acknowledge the de facto existence or the independence of
2 : to acknowledge or take notice of in some definite way: as a : to acknowledge with a show of appreciation <recognize an act of bravery with the award of a medal> b : to acknowledge acquaintance with <recognize a neighbor with a nod>
3 a : to perceive to be something or someone previously known <recognized the word> b : to perceive clearly :
It sounds like you (and all of us!) might do well to:
1. Put a "formal" public notice in your local newspapers and keep a copy.
2. Write a "letter of intent" from your ministry "To whom it May Concern". Have it notarized and keep a few copies handy.
3. Send a notarized letter (as above) announcing your ministry as a courtesy to the Governor and the Attorney General of your State, and to the Secretary of State by "certified mail". That shows great respect and makes a solid, legal paper-trail, too.
4. What else???
"...on record..."
What's the public record? Local newspaper is just one. Since there's supposed to be a 'separation of church and state', there aren't that many places where they intersect and come together, so to speak.
Here's another area in which you might like to be 'recognized'. Apply to your State for a non-profit tax status, and apply to the IRS for an Employee Identification Number, an EIN. I did both of these and I feel good about the experience and the outcome. It's free and easy to get the I.R.S. - E.I.N. number. I said that I have 'zero employees'. Now I have an official notice of recognition by the U.S. Federal government saying "THC Ministry" on it. I like it.
What else? Anyone...?
All the best - on your quest!
Roger
P.S. Good fortune in your court appearances (or not) this week. You are a terrific example of a sincere cannabis practitioner. Stand tall and be proud of who and what you are.
I think you should have a "motion to dismiss" written and filed with the court BEFORE any plea or trial. I have a template for you if you want one. I think it's a MUST DO for you. ...or better. :-}
God, that's GREAT!
