so thats why the prison rate is so high, its the cheapest labor. inmates get 2 pennies a day or something to be telemarketers or making liscense plates or whatever.

Policemen or chapas (how we call policemen in Ecuador), are not very bright. If one knows how the system works, one has to be smarter and don´t let anyone catch you carrying anything that could put you in a difficult situation.
Don´t give the laws an excuse to take you to prision, hide your stuff or if you have to throw it in a sewer or somewehere so they don´t have real proofs against you.
