Looking for Cannabis at Michelsberg Herbarium

The North Bavarian town of Bamberg* is not only home to American troops* that will leave next year with mission accomplished, but also an UNESCO world heritage site where some architecture survived the worldwar.



The Baroque cathedral of the former Michelsberg* monastery is home to an Herbarium featuring paintings of several hundreds of plants* from all over the world.



Herbascum thapsus, papaver rhoeas and nicotiana tabacum.

The cathedral was destroyed in the religious wars of the 16th century, the current paintings are from the early 17th century when witch trials were already becoming rare.

Where is the Cannabis in the Michelsberg Herbarium?

In the short time I was there I could not find it, and I could not find a complete list of the depicted plants either.
