lets say I got busted two years ago for weed, before I became a minister here. Lets say I never went to court. If I went to court right now, tommorow, could I use the religiuos defense?

I know it doesnt look good going to court two years after the fact, but could this help in any way?

ok, lets say I had two tickets, one two years old and one six years old. But Ive only been here about ten months. could this still help me? I mean, my minister status.

I don't know for sure, but I don't see any reason not to.

Zero, I was busted/convicted about seven years ago for cultivating a controlled substance with the intent to deliver (felony).

I had six female plants growing outside for medical purposes in an attempt to relieve my chronic/critical insomnia.

So, I have been wondering about taking my case to an appellate court in order to reduce the felony to a misdemeaner.

It makes sense to me that if having the status of being a minister would make a difference in current cases, why would it not apply to past "offenses" of the same situation?

If it's lawful/right for us ministers now then why is it unlawful then?

Maybe I'm not correct in this kind of reasoning, although...
nothing beats a failure but a try Cool

Good luck, brother,
Torkel

An arrest has nothing to do with changing ones religion. Since the court has not restricted your religious use yet, they may have waited too long to do so. You are a member of a religion that mandates the use of cannabis. The court did not bar you from joining. If they wanted to, they needed to do it before you joined. At this point, it seems unlikely that the court has authority to force you to abandon a religious affiliation.

I only had like, a jpint on me each time. They are just misdemenor 200$ tickets here usually. They do carry a max of six months in jail though, and I really cant afford to do that time. If the judge is in a pissy mood, I'm fucked.

One time I just had resin on me, in a pipe, which is fucking sad. The cops were just bieng assholes. They kept asking me what gang I was from. It was bullshit.

the other time I had six bongs, but only got a possesion ticket because I gave them all my shit without them having to search. They came to my door and the cop told me not to lie and give them what I got and I would only get a possession ticket and not go to jail for paraphanalia. It was better than going to jail, so I was like "ok" and started breaking out bongs and pipes and steamrollers, I actually had to explain to the cop how the gravity bong worked when I gave them the two liter bottle. When I was done he looked at me and said "wow, thats pretty good". Then handed me a ticket and took a garbage bag full of my paraphanalia away. If you wonder why i didnt protest to a search, it was because when they walked up my window was open and I had three bongs in plain view, anyone could see even if they walked by. I was pretty drunk at the time.

I really havent committed like, harsh crimes against society or anything. I work, Im a productive member of society, I dont blatently disrespect the laws put in place to keep order in this society, all I do is smoke weed and drink a bit of beer, but beer is perfectly legal at my age. Ok, maybe I do a bit more, but Im a good guy dammit. As long as the courts dont find out that I run a marijuana website.

But if I could claim religous exemption, I may be able to take care of these tickets? Both are just simple possesion, nothing wild here in Colorado.

Hey there z-man,

Aloha everyone. Good question, z. Religious freedom exists for everyone, whether you know it - or not. Now that you know it - work it!

"Getting high" with cannabis is a spiritual activity and term; in the past, in the present and in the future.

Work with me. I'm here (for now) to help you with any case against you, or anyone in our ministry. Work me! Call me. E-me.

Frame your case(s) with positivity and good manners and respect for everyone, etc. "God, that's great I got arrested for herb way back when. Please show me now the blessings in this situation ... and hurry!"

Like that, bro. There's more, too. Start now to "bless it" and call or e-me to get a full grip on it, so to speak. You're in control in a metaphysical world.

"I am safe.
I am loved, and
All is well."

later,

Roger
