All very interesting theories without a doubt. But does anyone believe this?
And if so what is it they believe? That Jesus healed? Was he a Healer? Or was it the cannabis? Or was there something else at work?
C'mon folks. Let's hear what you have to say on this one.
We can't just quote the bible regarding the many possible references to cannabis and leave it at that. if we have opened a door we must pass through and see what is on the other side.
Do we perhaps use this kind of info to justify our cannabis use to others but not believe it ourself?
I'd be interested to see what people think.
Peace all

As this is an intersting question, I moved it here roney.
For me, I'm not a 'believer', or Christian, never been one and I guess it's not in my nature to ever become a 'believer' also.
however, millions of people are conditioned to use the Bible as a guidance for their life and actions and therefor it is of great importance for us, who are pro cannabis, to show those people even the bible is positive towards The Herb.
If jesus healed, or cannabis did it is another good question, my guess is we'll never know. _________________ █ Please read the Board Rules and Posting, and you

I agree with you Ferre, it is not the point, dont bring "religion" into this
id like to know is the evidence for Christ useing "cannabis oil" available?
i realize that there is a Higher Power; than mankind, call him God. For us, i would think - dont put us in "a category belief system", let us be open to all Faiths, including Lord Jesus the Anointed One.
" .....in the time of Jesus, the land was covered in cannabis, and its no wonder that he was inspired by God to take this hidden Knowledge from the Pharasises[hypocrites], who were making 'a camel's scrotum full of sheckels' from their 'ministery' useing the herb, distributed to the plebs, for the consumption thereof.
then this guy, the Anointed One, a clever boyo, comes out with the 'sacred reccipe' for the "good" oil! Lo & behold; the plebs, mostly plebs & the sick 7 poor, took to this 'blasphemer', who spilled the beans on the Church, they liked his style, loads were treated with the liberated holy oil, which He lavished on young & old alike. "make love not war"; he said..; you know..the rest.....
...only now it's f*$ked up with quarrel & unreason, so Jesus wouldn't recognize his crew. they felt threatened by the Knowledge & free 'abuse' of the Sacrament. "Really they couldnt handle the truth"...[Leo x circa. michealangelo] so they went their own way , with the gold.
so the catolix/bornagainboys today are Anti Christ, they dinna wan ya using nuffin, yo mite "realize" ; you were being rode
sure, we canna handle it dubya tell ya when to duck ! its ok ...ya.

Hi Ferre
I'm glad you posted on this topic as it was your postings on references to cannabis in the Bible that got me thinking
is it that easy to say that ' i am not a believer'? easy to say it alright but does it have any meaning?
if people don't 'believe' then what is this ministry about? do we believe in the holy herb as a sacrament? or as a means of getting closer to God?
or as a way of getting high and we want to be able to do it in peace?
what does 'minister' mean?( a serious question)
i don;t mean to upset anyone. we all have our own path.
if we are going to be 'ministers' we must be clear what it is we are about.
I would be interested in hearing what you all think.
God is within us.
Peace and love to all

Ok roney, to answer your question, what does 'minister' mean for me?" I'm ordained at the ULC, and the only doctrine they have, and I can agree with is 'To do what's right' For me this is contributing to the community as I am doing, to give a platform to every one from whatever believe system who recognises the spiritual value of cannabis use and to give people who use religious grounds for their defence in a court more credibility.
If I say I'm not a Christian and do not believe in a 'God' as written in the Bible you can trust me I mean this so it has a meaning.
The question you ask, 'if people don't believe then what is the ministry about' is answered all over this website, 'religious' is NOT another word for 'Christian' and has as many interpretations possible as there are humans.
The only 'doctrine' we have here at the Amsterdam Cannabis Ministry is that we use cannabis as our religious sacrament, it doesn't state we use cannabis as a Christian sacrament does it?
At the Ministry we have Jewish Rabby's, Pagan priests, Christians, Rastafarians, Muslims, atheists, Gnostics and many other's and all those people have one thing in common, the use of cannabis for spiritual reasons.
peace, Ferre

i havenīt thought much about the historical jesus (except that because i didnīt talk more about him at my exam in religion i just got a B+ instead of an A)
however - i think that it is a possibility that there was a dude called jesus josefson that went around healing people. and when i think about the symptoms of the patients i think itīs a possibility that jesus used cannabis as a healing device. and if you include other plants which may or may not (i donīt know much about the plantlife in palestine) been used by this dude - i think itīs a fair possibility that jesus josefson was a doctor which used medicine to heal people. but - if this scenario is true, then it was the plants that did the healing, not the man. or - the mind and body is closely connected and perhaps he helped people with psycosomatic problems to become better by talking to them and manipulating their heads so for instance they realized that stress was bad and started to chill and because of this problems like stomachache, migrane or other such symptoms dissappeared. and if that is true iīll say that jesus healed them.
oh well - just speculations.

Yes, all possible Charon. And what would you tell me of the raising of Lazarus? Was his death psycosomatic too?
I think that what we are telling the Christians here is that if Sweet Cane was indeed cannabis and it was one of the ingrediets of the anointment used by Jesus in his healings, it's in no way problematic being both Christian and using cannabis. What's behind the healings and how they were carried out and if they were really miracles, that's a matter of faith and I think it should be left to the individuals.
Cannabis has been used in many cultures, it brings people closer to each other and to the universe we belong to. In that I see its profound spiritual value that traspasses all religions and all believes, if any. It's good in itself because it promotes understanding of others, peace and love. It can be a powerful tool and in no way evil, on the contrary. Is there a God and what God? Many Gods? No Gods? Simply put, I don't know. _________________

i thought about that one. i guess the question is: was he dead or did he just appear to be dead? iīve heard about certain substances and conditons which could, for the uninvited (that is - us who arenīt doctors now in 2004), make the sufferer appear dead to us even if they are alive. and if lazarus was indeed medically dead, was it a miracle or cpr that did the trick? or something else? i havenīt read the bible so i must now rely on information given to me over 10 years back and my memory suck (surprised? didnīt think so).
well - itīs all speculations. bottom line: i think jesus might well have used cannabis for several reasons.
personally i donīt belive in miracles. i use the word for "something really unbeliveable and totally improbable that actually happened" but not for "divine intervention". my own "miracle" was that i had a stroke (for you who have followed me for a while - this story must have become boring, but itīs a good story) and came out of it without damages and i didnīt receive medical attention. - that practically never happens. was it a miracle? i donīt think so. pure luck i say. luck and good health plus a well-stimulated brain. i will write a post about this tomorrow so you all get the full picture and there might be an interesting discussion about miracles, luck, faith, life, death and whatelse.
i must agree with your points, Echo.

First it dont matter what anybody 'believes', if a childs mum said; "theres a frog down that well, son", does it become true when the child believes? NO!
For something to be 'true/real' we must feel it, sometimes ..."i felt it in the pit of my stomach". to 'know' something is not enough...i must REALIZE It, for it to make any diff.
i may know something eg; that my wife loves me!(cos of evidence) but unless i realize it ,with her, [*] we wont be contented in marraige! it's so delicate we often often dont give it a chance.
Our own desires overide what it is we really what. We really want what we already have [love]. what we cannot see, cos our material senses (i want i want) get in the way, is it is all cool!
Cannabis was growing wild in Palistine when Jesus was a lad, probley did a doobi behind the synogue on the QT, probley grew up to advocate the medicinal uses of the Herb, probley was to rad for the Man. people loved & admired him for his openess and not givin a toss for the Hypocrites& the Man _________________ Rev. I believe that Samuel is the one who annoited Christ with oil when he was a babe. (If iI am wrong someone correct me). I know Jesus was very intuned to its use, when they used it as inscense in the tents they burned lots of it and closed the tent flaps.
I believe that people were healed by 2 things Jesus and faith. I believe the dead he rose were truly dead and the blind he healed truly blind. I believe that cannabis was the new wine listed at Isaiah 65:8 and I believe Jesus enlightened many to its medicinal purposes. It states that many dont have the conscience to freely use cannabis....

For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Ghost. (Epistle of St. Paul: Romans 14: 2,3,13,14,17)

We know how enlightening cannabis is to spiritual and medical issues. It truly is the plant renowned

I like this one lilli... It basicly sais to me here is a wonderous plant with which we shall end starvation and put clothes on the naked backs of the heathens. Isnt that what blessed Cannabis hemp has been continuing to do ever since? Sure it has.
