Dear friends (I am far away but love to see your face regulary on this forum Ferre),
Tim has done a very beautifull article on the Cannabis culture in Jamaica. I thank him for all his great works. Interrestingly though I read again about the Indian conection to the Jamaican Rasta culture; some think there is an African one. In fact Christian Ratch the German superman who wrote the largest book (encyclopedia) on psychoactive plants I have ever seen claims (in this encyclopedia) that he proved that the link is in fact Africa. I did not find or read his evidence yet but he is certainly not just a guy in this case and I hope to find the articles one day where he proves this claim. If anybody of you found it (even if it is in German) please post it so we can see.
Thanks all for your input on this great forum

Nice post mall,
I can understand cannabis is an alien to Jamaica, but I not so sure on the Indians taking it there, I would need more evidence.
I have heard that it had originated from the island, so, when I was young and naive I thought the Jamaicans introduced it to us .
Then, I heard that the British took it there to make rope for the sails for trip home. When you think about that it makes more sense, but all the same the Spanish could have also.
But now the Indians , the word ganja is a hard one to argue though, but very shallow evidence.
I need more proof! |

Dear friends,
Someone has a copy available of Christian Ratsch his encylopedia?? I don't have it here available. If so please quote the statement that is in there about Jamaica and the Rasta's
Thanks
PS I still hope someone can find the actual material that Ratsh wrote to prove this thing also......please look and ask around _________________ If in your soil it takes to heaven A thousand thanks be given; And say in the land, it goodley goes, Where the Pantagruelion grows. |

Africa, it all came from that continent. Still today in and around South Africa the "Bushmen" smoke copious amounts of Cannabis. They use old newspaper to roll big ol' Bushman blunts. They are the ones that harvest the Hoodia catus that everyone wants for appetite control. Yeah! _________________ Peace and Blessings to All,
