|
|
A member of the THc ministry of colorado was pulled over last night coming home to Denver from the mountains. His bag was then discovered, and upon that, he provided his THC id card and his sacrament tag which was inside the bag.
the cops reasoning was "I dont want to go through all that court process"
He took rickys bag and let him go on his way.
also gave back the sacrement tag that was in the bag. _________________ www.shoutwire.com

That's sensational! .... Thanks R.C.
Somewhere in Colorado there's a cop sitting on the side of the road smoking THC brand sacrament.

Id much rather give a cop a bag a sacrement then go to court. Your buddy just met a green cop Zero _________________

I dont wish to rain on anyones parade, but I'm not sure I would call that a victory.
They took this brothers hard earned Sacrament from him and violated his right to free religious practice. I think I would call it a compromise more than a victory...The person with the bag wasnt charged, but in return lost his G-d-given holy sacrament. I dont see how a police officer can confiscate a bag of Cannabis from a person and not charge them (illegal search and seizure laws). The person could have refused to give up his Cannabis Sacrament to law enforcement by way of recorded statement, and either been charged with possession, in which case he could have fought it on the grounds of Religious Freedom and win, or even file a lawsuit against the officer and the dept for violating his civil rights by interfering with this brothers mode of worship.
From the information I can gather in the story, it sounds like both parties didnt want to fight it out in court, and compromised. Our brother allowed his Sacrament to be confiscated, in return for leniency....I will not judge our brother for this decision, for it was his alone to make.
Lets all bear in mind that the Government has a very poor 'poker face'. When they offer leniency, something is going on. That is an immediate 'tell' that they feel intimidated by the other side. When an officer says he doesnt want to go through all those court processes, he is really telling you " I am AFRAID to go through all of those court processes," because he knows you will win! This is what the Ministry was built to defend, let it do its job, by protecting ALL of your rights....without compromise.
One thing I think our brother may have done wrong to get off on the wrong foot, was to let the bag be discovered before he told the officer about it being in his possession. Then produce credentials to back up your claim, and then advise him to call the number on the card to verify the information you have given him. Being upfront and honest play a large part in the decisions law enforcement officers make. They deal with liars all day long, and they react strongly to someone who they think is running game on them. That doesnt mean that you are, just that it might appear that way, if a person isnt pro-active instead of re-active.
I dont mean to criticize your viewpoint(s), but I feel if we dont know what victory is, how can we ever truly acheive it? When our rights are honored, and respected I believe we have victory. I hope you understand what I am trying to say, and arent offended by it. Thanks for taking what I have to say into consideration. _________________ Stop being a slave to Cannabis, and do something with your life! I understand and fully respect your opinion...
I think as long as people continue to see things like this in the context of 'victory', that it only serves to feed into law enforcements benefit, not ours.
Peace to you..... _________________ Stop being a slave to Cannabis, and do something with your life! How much is smoking weed going to cost you before you will WAKE UP?

Interesting take on the situation Rev. Poole.
And I agree ... our freedoms are still very much in question.
Of one thing we can be fairly certain though, had the minister not been carrying a THC card and tag he more than likely would be staring at a possession charge that would have cost him dearly.
A blessing nonetheless. _________________ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
