How is it that Marijuana is Sched. 1 and Marinol is Sched 2?

The DEA has listed Marijuana as a Schedule 1 drug. A drug that has NO Medicinal benefit. However, there is a pharmacutical "equivalent" of Marijuana marketed as a chemotherapy drug called Marinol. If both drugs have the same "active ingredient", then why are they listed under different schedules by the DEA?

With all of the states passing Medical Marijuana laws, it is becoming increasingly obvious that the mainstream is finally beginning to accept that marijuana is not near the threat that the last 70 years of propaganda has untruthfully deceived so many people.

What would be the process to prepare and deliver an argument capable of forcing the DEA to re-evaluate their "out of date" assessment of the cannabis plant.

I am for complete de-criminalization of the cannabis plant. I have never adhered to or believed in any government's right to dictate which plants are "legal" to grow.

Any step towards the mainstream recognition of the countless benefits of the cannabis plant is a step forward. It only takes a small step forward to eventually turn into a giant leap in the right direction.

You are asking for a way to put every DEA, a ton of police officers, and a large portion of correction officers out of work.

They won't let it happen.

The DEA is another govt agency that creates it OWN laws without congress oversight. Just another portion of the govt that has outgrown it's own britches.

There's no more govt by the people for the people. It's by the elite to control the people.

Technically speaking cannabis is a schedule II substance but the DEA enforces it as Schedule I in complete denial of the Administrative Law Judge Young's decision in 1988 to reclassify cannabis as Schedule II. About as bad as the IRS taking taxes from peoples labor and calling it income tax though there is no law alowing it. Welcome to America home of the serfs. We are not free we live how they tell us to.
