Funding for Film of United Cannabis Ministries

Dear Friends,

I have amazing film footage of Jack Herer, Eddy Lepp, Reverend Tom Browne and the first ever United Cannabis Ministries Congress, taken two weeks ago at the end of October 2005.

I need about $1000 to edit it and create a DVD of it which others can see.

When I was interviewing Eddy and Jack, I felt like I was getting stunning footage that the whole world will want to see. Please help me make this possible. You can send money to my PayPal account: thetempletv@yahoo.com. (But please don't email me there, I rarely check it. Use csukkal@gmail.com)

If you have the footage it should not take a $1000 bucks to make the DVD.

It's not that the technology will cost that much, it is the time that I have to take to do it. I know that given my own not so good skill at editing I will be spending most of a week doing this project plus having someone else help me. So time plus costs is where the money will go. I have already put in a good deal of time pulling amazing images off from the film as well as driving up to do private interviews with Jack and Eddy. I am just being realistic about it, knowing that there is someone out there for whom $1000 is not a whole lot and inviting that person to enjoy making a similar contribution to the project to the one I am making. I even have a nonprofit foundation to which the money can be sent making it a tax deduction here in the U.S.

Hope that clarifies my desire for the funding. Thanks for commenting. Are you a film editor?

Hi Christina,

Here's just an idea that could help you. I used to work in Hollywood, CA. There are literally thousands of new and very talented film students that would love to work on your project for nothing more than credit. I would guess that the majority of them have the best editing software and or access to full editting suites.

You could take out an ad in a local paper or take a weekend trip to LA and visit AFI, UCLA, Santa Monica Community College, among other schools and put up ads on their bulletin boards. Don't forget that every year, thousands of film students graduate and move on but still can't find work. Hit the neighborhood coffeeshops and bars. Make it an adventure. You might be surprised how many are willing to help, and are simpythetic to your cause.

Hey there everyone, I have the idea. Why don't you send me a copy of all you have so i can make it. I know how to edit video and also have the ability to have someone here in LA help me. I have made movies before. But if you really want a quality product we could send it to my friend who did most of the liberty bell videos that you can see on pot-tv.com in the pat tv section.

I have been very busy opening my new ministry here in LA. It is wonderful, I will make a separate post explaining what I am doing here.

Hi Patrick,

It is great to hear from you. I'm totally eager to hear about your new ministry and how that unfolds.

I have sent a copy of the film to Reverend Danuel Quaintance who apparently has the capacity to do all that we need. So I think our immediate need is handled.

I am still interested in my much larger film and will be putting a proposal together to get funding from it. I'll visit the site that you mentioned and check out your friend's film.
