did anyone see frontline's "Private Warriors" last night about the contractors in iraq. kbr/halliburton are trying to take over the world. iraq is just a staging ground to see how far the american people don't mind big military/corporate worlds taking over. this has probably been true of big money interests the world over from time immemorial, but this show just gives it to you, writ large. isn't fascism when big business runs the state. that's what we've got. we've got the military supporting kbr/halliburton.
the soldiers live in these base camps in air conditioned tents or trailers. there are food courts and little merchants set up around the base, sponsored of course by the contractors bringing a little home to our men and women. they showed pizza hut vendors and subway vendors. it's like "extreme summer camp" just a little business of killing and taking over a country on the side.

Yep.
The state runs the corporations in communism. The corporations run the state in fascism.
Different name - same game...

I have to disagree a little here. The true ideal of communism is a beautiful thing. The oppressive dictatorships claiming "communism" that the world has seen are a far from how it was meant to be... |
