hi everyone,
this is my first post. i'd like to use cannabis as a way to get in touch with myself and my spirituality. i notice, tho, that i have some paranoia involved when using. i am wondering if this is like a layer of experiences that i have to work through or with to get to other experiences too. can anyone else say if they've experienced this and if it goes away in time or how you work with it?

Hi, ljb and welcome!
Cannabis is a teacher-plant or entheogen. Very often paranoid feelings are cannabis' way of showing us issues within that need addressing in some form or other.
Also...a sativa or sativa-heavy strain can induce paranoia in those so inclined...
It's certain nothing to worry about...and you can learn from it and also learn to control it.
Dismissal of fear-thoughts is a wonderful skill...and essential to personal growth in my opinion. You are upon a wonderful path.
Follow your bliss,

The paranoia may partly be due to cannabis and its users being persecuted.
Once You realize cannabis harms You far less than booze it gets easier to see that cannabis is good, just like it says in the Bible on the very 1st page.
The best thing that can happen, happened to Me too. I realized cannabis was good, and heard the church saying it is bad. I wanted the truth. I was being persecuted for doing what I was certain was good and the truth was important enough to pray and ask for the truth according to the One who created it and gave it to Us and said it was good.
Being persecuted may lead You closer to Christ God Our Father’s spirit of truth.
Cannabis prohibitionists can not receive it; but You can.
Love one another; do not support evil; love one another; OVERCOME and You will be granted to eat of the tree of life. See Rev. 2:7. Don’t just eat of the tree of life; be granted to eat.
Ask the Ecologician for the truth.
Share what He gives You. |

High and welcome, while there can be many reasons for paranoia from THC, it does go away. One of the best things you could do for yourself right now is begin taking vitamin B3 two or three times a day with food until you notice the subsidence of the fear. Then, over the next month, gradually reduce the B3 to once a day.
Another thing I found very useful is to remind myself that I am about to partake of the holy sacrament. It is only a plant. The effects will come on within 5 minutes, peak at 15 mins, and subside in about 1½ hours gently returning me back to base level around 2 hours after I last inhaled the smoke. THC will not harm you.
Generally speaking, the biggest cause of the fear is letting go and trusting yourself. If you have a tendancy to have behaviour that is inappropriate to yourself or others, then it would be wise to have someone as a guide until you feel more secure. Remind yourself that you are safe. You will do no harm. Remember the time scale and remember to only use THC in a safe setting.
Finally, try using the smoke with a guided meditation. You may find your mind expanding very rapidly. Always remember to respect the herb and just relax. Before you know, the ride will come to a complete stop and you will return the same person you have always thought you were, but maybe with a bit more enlightenment.
Skål! (cheers) _________________ "Penalties against the possession of a drug
