My children are my greatest investment and I want all the best for them. There's a lot more that a parent can do instead of using "dogs" to find out their "secrets". I see no point in that other than breaking the trust between a child and their mother/father. Think of all the things you can do for and with your children before such paranoid suspects arise.
It's pointless and twisted. |
This is a wise statement!
What strikes me here is that if a parent is at the point where they call a sniffer dog they've already lost their children!
They're the kind of parents who gave up on communicating with their children ages ago and just decided to let 'em go...and then brought the hammer down when they became too mad at their kids to handle it.
I knew my kids were smoking and drinking...but I trusted them (they were 15 and 17) enough to tell 'em straight out not to get into trouble or they would have to leave!
They knew as a fireman I meant business and they believed me. I would have thrown 'em out after age 16 if they screwed up and they knew it!
I treated them with respect and honesty but they understood that they had to take the rap like adults if they elected to be dumb...so they didn't.
The secret is trust! _________________ Fyrefly1
