Quote:
The first amendment to the constitution of the United States of America goes something like this: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

Last week, those words were shot to hell like a lame horse by the overzealous law enforcement officers in the great state of Texas. A small band of peaceful protesters were arrested just outside of our foul, monkey-like presidents’ ranch after they refused to leave town quietly, and a message was sent out loud and clear to the people of America. “If you speak out against us, you will be arrested and humiliated in front of the entire nation!”

That message will echo throughout history as the stone that killed the great eagle that was democracy. No longer can we trust in the inalienable right to protest our leaders’ actions without fear of his sheriffs coming to take us away. Not even if you have made the ultimate sacrifice for your country.

Cindy Sheenan, the mother of a soldier who was killed in Iraq last year, is the one behind the protests. Unlike Mr. Bush, she has sacrificed a lot for this war. This situation stands to show us how much our lives are worth to our leaders.

Had it been one of Bush’s own drunken twins whose lives were extinguished those long months ago in that desert hell, you can bet your last hit of chronic he would want the person who sent them to be held accountable. However, with the roles reversed, he would not even grant Mrs. Sheenan an audience to, at the very least, offer her some kind words of condolences.

In a just war, a strong leader would be able to look into the eyes of a mother whose son was killed and assure her that her boy gave his life for a meaningful cause. However, it is not an easy thing to do when you know you destroyed a family for no other reason than to line your own pockets with more money than you will ever need.

This is just the latest in a long history of cowardly actions by a cowardly little man who showed up on the scene about six years ago, stole the election, and proceeded to run our country into the ground.

We should all be mindful of the way this woman has been treated. Today it is she who has lost; tomorrow it could be one of us. Many of us already have.

Impeach Bush.
