|
|
I just happened to catch a t.v. program about a magician named David Blaine. He was about to be frozen in ice for 62 hours. Leading up to this he did some pretty good 'illusions'. But while David and a friend were walking around NYC's Central Park, he looked at a dead pigeon and mentioned something about hating to see dead animals. He proceeded to put his hands on the dead bird. As he waved his hands over the pigeon, I noticed the reactions a curious squirrel and a pet bird on the friend's shoulder. The squirrel watched him for a moment, then went back, sniffed the area where the dead pigeon had lied, and took off in fear. The pet bird had crawled around to the back of the friend's should as the friend said he'd never seen it so scared.
He took a dollar from a guy he met while walking downthe street. As he talked to the man, David made the man's name appear on the dollar. The man fell to the ground amazed. I'm thinking, Plant! But then the man's impression of what had just happened changed and he became terrified. He seemed to know this was not an illusion. He looked to me like someone who just had a life-changing bad trip.
David stopped another stranger on the street. While talking with the guy, when David interrupts with something like, "How's Sarah? That is your girlfriends name right?" The guy seems surprised, how could this stranger know his girlfriend's name? I'm thinking, okay, the guys surely a plant. But then David shows the man a tattoo of Sara on David's stomach. The guy was dumbfounded. He staggered away and gradually fell to pieces, probably as his idea of reality crumbled apart.
This David the Magician hardly seems to be an illusionist. If anything, he has a real knack for invoking fear. I'm sure some of my brethern out there would know if there is a Last Day's Prophesy about people performing distortions to reality (aka miracles)? _________________ "Penalties against the possession of a drug

David Blaine is a fraud.
trust me, his tricks are illusion.
In my years of Santeria practice, Ive learned alot. Alot I dont think all others would understand. Alot of things people couldnt handle if they did know. Alot of things I couldnt tell you here if you wanted me too. Even if I wanted to. Just trust me, I know some things. This guy is a fruad. _________________ www.shoutwire.com

Zero and Mystic, I agree with you about David Blaine being an illusionist. But then again, what is reality if not an illusion? Maybe David is one of the few who are lucidly dreaming this dream. Able to manipulate it at will.
What amazed me the most was the reactions of the animals. I've worked in Hollywood for a number of years and fooling animals is nearly impossible. When he made the dead bird come to life, the curious squirrel ran like hell. Also, David really seems to put fear in people. I would think that's against good illusionist etiquette.
I thought I remembered some prophecy saying something like, "...in the end times you'll see people performing wonders, but don't be deceived." Or something like that, and then something else about the Beast pulling fire from the sky and raising the dead. It's been years since I've read this, so maybe I'm wrong. I dunno. BTW - I don't consider raising a dead pigeon the same as raising the dead. _________________ "Penalties against the possession of a drug

When I was younger I spent some time working in a magic shop. When I first stumbled across the shop, I was dumbfounded by the big jolly guy behind the counter, and he was thrilled to stun me over and over again. By the time I left I bought a small self working magic trick. The kind that kids can easily do, but when performed right is still absolutely stunning.
I studied that trick for hours on end that night and went back the next day to see him do more. Again I was mystified by his ability to distort everything I thought I knew was right. I could not resist purchasing another trick to try out, this time more complicated. Again I went home and studied and practiced it for hours until I could do it just right.
I absolutely had to go back again and again. After a number of days hanging out in the shop he asked me to do one of the tricks I had learned. I guess I did it good because from that day on I worked in the shop for nothing more than the knowledge I gained. I would demonstrate tricks to customers, and he would send me home with some nifty new apparatus to learn, which I would master overnight.
I did this daily for quite a long time until the shop owners were like family to me. They were some of the greatest people I've ever known. The big jolly guy taught me some of the most amazing things I never knew existed, gave me all my own apparatus, many volumes and encyclopedias of magic, and even took me to magic shows where I met some really good professional working magicians.
Anyway, needless to say I know a thing or two about magic, and you have NOTHING to fear from David Blaine. He is a very polished, innovative, illusionist, AND close up artist. The man has done his homework and developed his own "personality" as a magician. Even I am impressed and left wondering by some of his tricks, but I prommise you he is not exacting any supernatural powers when you see him on HBO!! |
