Latest reports from the front line of this years Cannabis Cup have it that the venders are being charged E3,000-00 each for the privilige of having what will likely be a cramped little stand in the Melkweg.

Further, participating Coffeeshops this year have to submit a Kilo of each strain & E1,000-00 to High Times.

Word is that Amnesia Haze (weed) & Carmella Creme (hash) are leading Cup contenders.

Amnesia Haze is reportedly being liberally doled out by Soma of Soma Seeds.

Carmella Creme (from Barney's Breakfast Bar) is being with held from sale until the Cup begins officially. Aparently the dealer said there is only 1 kilo of this stuff in town. It will retail at E18-00 per g.

Lester Redd, who I met last year has just arrived in town, so I look forward to catching up with him next week for a natter.

Jason King of 'Cannabible' fame is also in town.

Already there is talk of problems over at the pass/ticket office. Seems somebody fucked up & caused a days delay. Not sure what the details are on that one ......

Sounds like fun. I’ve wanted to go to one of these since the first one. Maybe someday...

I have to say though that the entry fee and quantity of herb requirements seem really steep. Seems like only the rich developers/shop owners will be able to get a fair shot at competing to me. But maybe im wrong.

Anyway I hope everyone going has a good time.

yeah, it's pretty steep indeed. Our fellow THC Minister and friend of me kapt. Sam who is the founder of the Genesis project here in Amsterdam just announced he got an agreement with the owner of PRE Cafe, Lijnbaansgracht 274 to use the cafe during the cannabis cup (it's near the Melkweg) and it will be one of the places for us THC Ministers to meet and hang out in between all the cup events and they have a side event as well with cannabis testing (from a few coffeeshops and people who indeed found the entrance fees a little steep) and good food. kapt. Sam doesn't surf the internet much and is doing great work 'in the shadows' for our ministry here in Amsterdam and is at present times also working to get us housing for a gathering and ceremonial place for the Amsterdam THC Ministry in the future.

Well, I was at the opening evening, it was great I have met many friends, Eddy Lepp and his wife Linda are here and say hi to you all, Our sister Sara was in town also and many others. It's night now and I just came home, tomorrow will be busy as well but I uploaded some pictures for you to have a look at the opening at the Melkweg.
