Cheney’s Secret Government

Even though “Bring It On” Bush and “Shooter” Cheney are misguided - in that they believe that telling lies is not telling lies when they do it, and that waging illegal and immoral war becomes legal and moral when they do it - they should still be given credit for their roles in reshaping the American government into something that it was never intended to be and for snookering the masses into going along with it.

They may be crazy but they didn’t just fall off the watermelon truck.

It’s like an incredible alignment of the stars. Bush and Cheney and the Christian, Right Wing, Republican Neotards all coming to power at the absolute perfect time when the great, grazing masses of Americans are at their dumbest.

And when I say, great, grazing masses of Americans, I say it with the understanding that the Democrats are almost as stupid as the Republicans grazing along with them.

The Democrats were not alert and thinking when they gave Bush the authority to use whatever force was needed to deal with Iraq, and they were still asleep when their presidential candidate stepped up and saluted and announced that he was reporting for duty.

Who can blame the dumb, grazing masses for deciding to go with the incumbent war horse rather than one that appeared almost as stupid?

I say stupid, but I could say worse.

Maybe even worse than the stupidity of the Democrats at the time of the Iraqi invasion and the next election, was their lack of courage.

An intelligent candidate with just a little courage would have said boldly that the war was wrong and would never be right and that he would order our troops back immediately and continue to track down Osama bin Laden and the 9/11 terrorists while spreading peace and understanding throughout the world.

The Democrats were either not smart enough to know the proper way ahead or they were afraid that the dumb, grazing masses were too dumb to go along with it.

They may have been right, but we’ll never know because they chose the little less stupid path and the copout instead of the intelligent way that would have required more courage.

I knew the world was in trouble the moment the Democratic candidate for president saluted with a big grin and announced that he was reporting for duty.

It must be some perfect alignment of the stars which may not happen again for hundreds of years when so much stupidity is grouped together in such a critical mass as it’s been since we crossed over into the 21st Century.

And, of course, that critical mass that presses stupidity into insanity is still very much with us today. Even I, with all my intelligence and optimism, cannot say with certainty if this stupid insanity can be watered down with honesty, intelligence and reason in time for us to avert a collision with the hell of nuclear war that is converging on us not too far out there in the distance.

Historians may argue that it was the slickest trick ever pulled on America when Bush and Cheney and their Christian, Right Wing, Republican Neotard regime managed to move us into a never-ending World War on Terror without having to follow the Constitution that says only Congress can declare war.

The idea that Bush and Cheney and the rest were slick enough to use the presidential power as commander in chief during war to expand the power of the executive branch to a height and power above the Legislative and Judicial branches that were never dreamed of, has got to go down as an important earmark in the history of America.

These incredible maneuvers are so fantastic, it almost makes sense that the great, grazing masses and the media would fail to notice that Shooter Cheney has at the same time expanded the power of the vice presidency into something never contemplated, almost like a secret government in itself with the freedom to do as he pleases, without legitimate accountability to anyone, not even the president.

Whether that’s the fault of Bush’s dumbness or Cheney’s diabolical cunning is hard to say, but it stands out to me as very interesting, even in the midst of all these other unbelievable things that have been happening since Bush was installed as president, even though he lost the popular vote to Al Gore.

Take last week’s hunting accident in which Shooter Cheney whirled and shot a 78-year-old Republican down, blasting him with as much as 150 pellets, one of which found its way to his heart and caused him to suffer a minor heart attack a few days later.

I heard Cheney himself say that he shot and saw his friend falling and that it was a sight that he would never get out of his mind. This was four days later, after Bush handler, Carl Rove, talked him into giving an interview to the press in order to take the heat off the administration and get the incident behind them.

Up until then the Shooter let it be known that he considered it his private business and that he didn’t owe any explanations to the press or the public other than what had already been reported. But then FOX News is a fake press and he was interviewed by a brownnoser that didn’t care about digging out the truth but basking in the glory of getting the exclusive interview.

Don’t tell me that Shooter Cheney just fell off the watermelon truck. It was textbook lying Cheney at his best. And Cheney, at his lying best, has no match, unless it is Bush himself, and even then I would have to give the older, more experienced liar the edge.

And don’t forget the curious alignment of the stars. Cheney had the perfect audience, the dumb, grazing masses which do not have the intelligence or the imagination to separate the obvious truth from the obvious lie.

I didn’t see the interview but heard a piece on the radio and saw a clip on TV, and yet all I heard was lies.

Like the part where Cheney explained why he thought Katharine Armstrong’s idea of making the news public to her local newspaper was a good idea – that she knew the facts and was the past head of the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, and that accuracy was paramount and he didn’t have a press person with him.

If I had been the reporter I would have asked:

"Mr. Vice President, I find it hard to believe that Katharine Armstrong would take it on herself to present that proposal to you, you being the vice president and all. It seems much more logical that it was you that led her into making such an offer. You knew the facts even better than she did, and as far as not having a press person with you, you are the vice president of the United States. How much intelligence does it take to get on the phone and report the incident to a White House spokesperson? Shouldn't you have realized that taking 20 hours to get the story out would lead to unnecessary speculation by the media and the public? Shouldn't you have insisted on a police interview and alcohol level test as soon as possible for the same reason, instead of letting 14 hours go by before submitting to questions from the local police? You say you take responsibility for pulling the trigger, but don't you realize that spinning and firing at a rustle in the grass without looking is plain recklessness? Don't you think that your actions indicate that you need to have your hunting privileges revoked and ordered to take a safe hunting class? And don't you admit that your main focus after the shooting was not your concern for Harry Whittington, but to get as much food in your belly as you could and enough time for the alcohol in your blood to disappear, and to get the news out in as small and slow a way as possible to keep you from having to face the media until you had all your ducks in a row, and even then, not until you were forced to?”

Bush listened to these same lies and found them to be very good answers that should please the people of America. And guess what? America and the media were snookered again, but pleased. Don’t tell me the Shooter just fell off the watermelon truck.

(sorry, I could not get the Qoute option to work)

While I will agree that there is a shit-load of stupidity, (or maybe a better term is alacrity), to go around, I disagree with the notion that the present day Dems could in any legitimate way bring "peace and understanding throughout the world" without the bloated Pentagon monster.

To save America (not amerikkka) will require a complete revolution of thinking and policy. I don't believe anyone in amerikkkan politics has the balls or clout to do that.

Nobody in america's govt WANTS to do that. They have their own interests (or the interests of their puppet master's) to worry about. It is the american people that don't have the first clue that they should be revolting, let alone the balls you speak of....
