A new rule lets police officers decide whether to issue tickets for marijuana possession, as opposed to bringing the suspect to jail. What do you think of this rule?
*Good idea
*Band idea
*Dont care

Should recreational drugs be legalized?
*Yes. My body, my choice.
*Maybe some drugs, like marijuana, but not harder stuff like heroin.
*No. Legalization would lead to more use, and more problems.

Funny how a newspaper still supplies the option "No. Legalization would lead to more use, and more problems" while any respectable journalist can do a tiny bit of research and find out that in countries where "use" of drugs is legal, like in the Netherlands and other countries this has never caused "more use and more problems".
In fact, when looking at the statistics, legalization counts for less use and lesser problems.
I voted for the first option btw, but I already live in a country where we own our own body and can use whatever we like legally. _________________ █ Please read the Board Rules and Posting, and you

Not really "lucky", being the former chairman of the Dutch Legalize organization I know very well what it takes to keep our basic human rights intact. The Dutch are in an ungoing struggle against prohition since decades. We have to fight the Christian democrats at home and the USA pressure (read; blackmail) on our representatives to keep our rights intact.
It's not luck, it's damn hard work. _________________ █ Please read the Board Rules and Posting, and you

Tvert pushes pot smoking at DIA
(DENVER INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT)
'Alcohol-related air rage' threatens travelers, he says
http://www.rockymountainnews.com/news/2008/jun/25/tvert-pushes-pot-smoking-at-dia/
Attention: You are now free to float about the cabin.
Well, not yet, but maybe someday - that is, if Mason Tvert has anything to say about.
Tvert, a crusader for legalizing marijuana, has called for pot-smoking lounges in the nation's airports. His reason for doing goes beyond his cannabis liberation mission: He wants to help make flying safer.
"There's been this growing trend of alcohol-related air rage," he said Tuesday, alluding to episodes of drunken passengers creating in-flight disturbances.
Just last week, Christina E. Szele, 35, a New York woman, was accused of drunkenly disrupting a JetBlue flight, punching a flight attendant and screaming curses and racial slurs after she was prevented from smoking. A cigarette, that is.
Szele's outbursts wouldn't have happened if she'd been inhaling instead of imbibing, said Tvert, whose two pro-pot ballot measures have won voter approval in Denver.

Out of 9,590 questions currently this question is number 1!
"Will you consider legalizing marijuana so that the government can regulate it, tax it, put age limits on it, and create millions of new jobs and create a billion dollar industry right here in the U.S.?"
http://change.gov/page/content/openforquestions
This edition of Open for Questions comes to a close at 12:00 a.m. Thursday, December 11, 2008 05:50pm EST / Posted by Dan McSwain Since its launch yesterday, the Open for Questions tool has processed over 600,000 votes from more than 10,000 people on more than 7,300 questions. Voting will come to a close Friday, December 12th, at 12:00 a.m. EST, so that we can prepare answers to some of the most popular questions. (Note: All of the questions submitted so far will be archived here.)
Pilot projects like "Open for Questions" depend on feedback from users to better understand how to make participation intuitive and productive. In case you missed the link at the bottom of the Open for Questions page, we have a feedback form for any ideas or comments you have about the tool.
Participation in Open for Questions outpaced our expectations, and we're looking forward to rolling it out again next week. We're tremendously excited about the promise of tools like this that offer Americans a level of access that has historically been hard to come by. By voting questions up, users have been able to convey to our team which major issues -- like the auto industry, health care, ethical standards, and others -- are the most important to this community.
Over the next few days, some of the most popular questions selected by the Change.gov community will be answered by the Transition team, and their responses will be posted here on the site.
