Cannabis infused oil

I am interested in making an infusion or tincture with cannabis and oil, (olive or grape seed) for oral administration and need some help!

Would an oil be effective for sublingual absorption or for that application does it have to be alcohol?

If it would not produce effects as a sublingual medicine, would you derive benefits from the swallowing the infusion?

I have about an ounce of some AK-47 that I can spare for this but if it is not effective I know how to insure I receive some benefit from it

What ratio of bud to oil would be effective?

Is there a preferred way of preparing? Slow cooker over a few hours or soaking for a period of time in a dark cool place?

Any feedback from would be appreciated.
