all at THC ministry,

Looking for historic references of cannabis use in the past, one of the interresting issues can be fairy tales. In one of the earlyest versions of sleeping beauty it is a hemp needle which stings and makes her sleep for a hundred years. Anyway there seems to be something with those spinning weels all the time in these stories. Anybody knows more on ferry tales and drugs here? Anybody knows a lot about symbolism in ferry tales? What could the demand for the first born child be meaning in a ferry tale (dutch name repelsteeltje = van repelen (hout verwijderen uit hennep en vlasvezel en 'stengel' als zodanig)?

Hello and Welcome to the ministry!

I'm not sure about the first-born thing, but I'm pretty sure that those spinning wheels weren't spinning cotton.

Cotton has a fiber length of only 1.5 - 2 inches, making it a real hassle to spin.

Hemp fiber, or tow...very popular as a crop in Europe during the early days of fairy tales... can be 12 - 14 ft in length, perfect for home spinning.
