not true, the major opposition is the political party called the conservatives, akin to the religious reich of the United States of America...anti gay marriage, anti abortion, anti pot......
the US is not cowering in fear  ...as much as we would love to think so, in fact its the US that seems to be the only thing in the way....conveniently, the catholic church of america has been throwing a lot of money this way lately, in light of this and other issues that seem to go against the grain of contemporary christianity..

That may be, I know I live in a democratic province, and it always seems to end up democratic too! lol Manitoba kinda sucks!
However, on the bright side, it's been what, 12 years since the conservatives have had any real power here in the nation........
Hopefully 12 more too!
