I make hookahs and other smoking accessories out of clay at my college recently I was told that I had to stop making things used to smoke out of I make realy nice hookahs and water/pipes
I was reading some stuff about the religous use of Marijuana and I saw this does this mean I have the right to still make my art?
"Religious use" means the acquisition, possession, cultivation, use, distribution, or transportation of marijuana or paraphernalia relating to the consumption of marijuana in a practice of a bona fide religious denomination or society that qualifies as a tax exempt organization under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended. The term "religious use" shall not encompass practices developed primarily for the contravention of prohibitions on marijuana. For the purposes of "religious use", the term distribution is limited to the transfer of marijuana and paraphernalia from bona fide clergy practitioner to qualifying religious member practitioner. _________________

Its easy to say that it should be legal... I mean hookahs are a traditional pipe for smoking things other than illegal substances. But in the real world right now, things arent as easy as they should be.
There are "hookah bars" in my area where folks can come in and smoke flavored tobacco and non tobacco herbs. But the "head shops" in town are just as likely to get busted over selling them as not. Insane huh?
I dont have a definalte answer for you. My opinion is that its a craft, and its a traditional(eastern) pipe that shouldnt be illegal to have/make/own/use. But the truth in todays world is that its a risk.
I hope somebody else has a better answer for you. And I wish you the best of luck. I used to have a real nice hookah in the 70's... I dont have it anymore and miss it. So I would hate to see anyone with the skills to make them get into trouble.

I'm sorry but I can't give you any advice. All over the world what you are doing is considered an artform and totally legal and respected. ONLY in America since Asscroft there exists such thing as "illegal pipes"
In my personal opinion it's totally insane and shows the world what a bunch of crazies are really in control in the states but somehow the politicians all over the world close their eyes and cover this kind of madness with...yeah, with what???? _________________ █ Please read the Board Rules and Posting, and you

They are an art form for sure. What about attaching a label to them that says they are for display only? Would that help? I don't really know... the world is going crazy lately

If you were to try a sign, I'd recommend, Sacramental Chalice...

I think you're gonna have to save up and buy your own kiln there bro...might as well get a wheel too.
The college probably has a right to say what can or can't happen on their property...I don't know... _________________ Fyrefly1

Yeah Bro... I wish I had better info for you. The best I can do is offer words of hope... and caution.
Hope for better days, while remembering recent problems like "operation pipe dreams" and "Tommy Chong gets jail time for selling a "

Wellllll...
I'm pretty sure no person has a right to destroy your personal property, whether it's in a university class or whatever.
They can maybe ask you to leave with your piece but they sure can't destroy it.... _________________ Fyrefly1

The first thing you can do is check the laws in the state / province/ country you live in. If there are no paraphernalia laws on the books then id say you have a better footing to stand on. Some states for instance have strong anti-paraphernalia laws... these are bad places.
Good luck.
