Millions of Americans are living in pain; so many, in fact, that doctors now prescribe enough painkillers in a single year to medicate every person in the nation.
According to a disturbing new study by the Associated Press, Americans in 2005 consumed over 90,000 kilograms of powerful narcotic painkillers – primarily codeine, hydrocodone, and morphine, but also meperidine (Demerol) and oxycodone. In many cases, these drugs can be habit-forming. In some cases, their use can be deadly. (According to a separate AP report, the number prescription-drug fatalities has tripled from 1998 to 2005, with oxycodone being one of the drugs most often linked to drug deaths.) But what if there was a safer, cheaper, and potentially more effective alternative available for pain management – one that greatly reduced the user’s risk of dependency, and one that was incapable of causing a lethal overdose? For a handful of Americans there is. That medicine is cannabis.

Police officers acquitted for beating a 64 yr old man recently in New Orleans. In the words of their defense attorney "all he had to do was comply"....and they wouldn't have fractured his face. |

Sounds about right. I'm sure a nice amount of that was the free samples that are handed out by nurses, doctors, and everyone else invovled in that industry. _________________ Reverend Danny |

Yup...the pharmaceutical companies pay hot chicks to drive around to doctor's offices and give them free samples, pens, letterheads, prescription pads, etc. etc. I knew a female who did this for a living. Gorgeous as hell and living in a $300,000 home.... _________________ -Brother Adam (we are all one family)

I don't think it could in my case.
I've been on some kind of piate for the last 6 years. May as well say I'm a herion addict. There were a few times I was without my pills and I'll tell you that was nothing nice. An opiate dependency is a physical one and it hurts to be without them and nothing that I know of can take it's place.
Kind of sucks huh. _________________ Medical Marijuana Patient |

you need to look into detox and start researching dietary issues. I am not sure what pain you deal with on a daily basis but I gurantee you there is a way out of it you just need to be willing to try. There are some good purposes for treatment centers. _________________ Reverend Danny |

Two spinal surgeries under my belt. Last one didn't turn out so well. Even with the pain pills I'm in constant pain. I hate to admit it but only death will cure this kind of pain... _________________ Medical Marijuana Patient |
