Beyond Prohibition: Changing Attitudes in Policy and Practice
Canadian Students for Sensible Drug Policy (CSSDP)
www.ssdp.org/canada
March 16-18, 2007
The perception of Canadian drug policy as progressive obscures the reality
that Canada's War on Drugs constitutes a war on minorities, a war on the
poor, and a war on youth. It's time for Canadians to take responsibility for
the drug policy that we passively condone through our collective apathy. On
March 16 18, 2007 student activists and drug policy experts from across
North America will convene at Canadian Students for Sensible Drug Policy's
first annual conference, Beyond Prohibition: Changing Attitudes in Policy
and Practice, at McGill University in Montreal Quebec. Here we will explore
alternatives to the prohibitionist stance that abuses our population, our
communities, and our planet.
