This is a good post, Brother Ferre....
In a way it seems kinda propagandish to me. It doesnt take into account the accidents that are caused by mixing alcohol with Cannabis, and other more complex issues.
I think that to say Cannabis is harmless, is irresponsible. Im not saying that you are saying that, but thats what the statistics seem to suggest on the page.
I think taking Cannabis lightly, is one of the reasons we are treated lightly in return. You have one side saying its the Devil
and the other side saying its a panacea....
I think its neither. Mind-altering substances are tools of the shamanic trade...A serious tool, not to be taken lightly. A tool is only as good as the hand using it, so results vary. I feel like when someone knows the risks, and dont ignore them, then they know where from to proceed. On the other side of the coin, I feel when people think Cannabis is completely harmless, they make mistakes and may get hurt, or hurt someone else. They might mix it with alcohol, or another substance, and have a bad reaction...I dont want that, and I know that no one else does, either.
We use Cannabis because it has power, dont we? I do...I think we should acknowledge that power, and treat it with respect. People have misused or misunderstood its power in the past, which is why we are all here today. I think acknowledging the potential for harm from irresponsible use of Cannabis is a great way for us to enhance our credibility among those who would deny us our rights.
I just feel like the anti-cannabis crowd believes that some of us will say and do anything just to be able to use Cannabis. This really undermines our credibility. If we are even-handed and fair, it puts us in a much better light. Pro-Cannabis users seem to shirk away from any information that might make Cannabis appear less than perfect. We need to get over that. Every drug has side effects....some good, and some bad. I think to be responsible, and responsible enough to teach others, we need to know what is on each side of the fence, and acknowledge it.
Drugs dont kill people, decisions do.
Anyone else with a thought on this....Ferre? _________________ Stop being a slave to Cannabis, and do something with your life! How much is smoking weed going to cost you before you will WAKE UP?
