From my mailbox...
| Quote: |
Aldous Huxley, author of The Doors of Perception, gave a lecture at MIT
in 1961 on the other dimensions perceived in altered states. Bringing
up themes covered in his essay Heaven And Hell, he discussed historical
records of the techniques ancient cultures used to access these realms.
People who have read enough about (or experienced) DMT visions will
recognize a correlation.
The lecture has just been made available in archive form at:
http://thegoldeneel.com/aldous_huxley-visionary_experience.zip
The download is roughly 40 megabytes. Enjoy.

Wow. I think I was still reading Hardy Boys and Tom Swift and His Electrical Grandmother...
But then...I was one of those stout lads who was never gonna take LSD.
Sometimes it's so good to be wrong.
Nothing wrong with being a late-bloomer. I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up...if ever.
Bliss,

"The Doors" I used to listen at 15, nearly 15 years after their leader's death (Jim Morrison RIP) made me dig into the Doors of Perception by Huxley. I got extremely interested in his writings and his advanced knowledge about propaganda and mind control. The only thing we don't have in common is that I have never experienced LSD, but you can learn something from everybody. I didn't feel the need to take a first hand experience, and now, twenty years on, less than ever.
I also read his "Brave New World" as comparison with "1984" by Orwell. By now we know who had the better guess, as we are living their future |

Thanks for sharing this part of yourself with us, Echo.
It really is a good thing when people can be up front with one another.
Just because you haven't taken a trip to the 'other side' by now doesn't mean you never will ... and when you decide to do it, I know a few folks around here that would be more than happy to accompany you.
You'll love it! _________________ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
