Found this link traveling round the net and though some of you would find it interesting:
Live and Let Live
Tim Leary
Track 1 (feat. Leary speaking, Stephen Stills on guitar, John Sebastian on guitar, Jimi Hendrix on bass and Buddy Miles on drums)
With El Diablo in the Oval Office today's situation has a lot in common with the Nixon era (speaking from an American's point of view). The more things change, the more they stay the same. As Yogi Bera is credited with saying: "It's like deja vu all over again".
This time round I don't see the mass demonstrations against the insanity. What's weird to me is that the folks who are in the power seats are the same folks that were running around as kids in the 60's.
Hendrix died in '70 so this recording is at least 36 years old and we're still fighting the same battle over our right to smoke what ever the fuck we want to smoke or consume any other plant, drug, herb, spice we choose.
I watched the parade of "world leaders" that trotted out to speak at the UN and from my perspective there wasn't one who is worth a tinker's damn.
If there's to be a change of course towards a more peaceful world, it's sure not going to come from these bozos.
Lennon's line keeps running through my head... "So you say you want a revolution..."
Anyway, back to topic: Leary was a freaking maniac and I didn't agree with him most of the time but he sure was fun and entertaining. Hope you enjoy it.
