Greetings Brothere & Sisters;
I had a Wonderfully Blessed day, today. I was arrested a while back & ordered to participate in a "drug evaluation" Program. (i'm not on drugs??)
I did complete their so called drug evaluation, and the result was 3 to 4 months out patient treatment. ofcourse this would require U.A's.
Well today was the day i was to enroll in the program, and start the "treatment"... "hee hee hee"...well i had a card to play, thanks to Rogers advise. I drew my card & played it, here it is:
1/24/2005
To whom it may concern,
I, Reverend Charles Tucker request exemption from drug tests due to my religious beliefs and practices. The Iowa THC Ministry’s members are mandated to use cannabis as a sacrament in our religious practices. Therefore it would set forth a great burden as to our practices and beliefs, denying us of our religious rights altogether. Furthermore, it would be religiously degrading to be submitted to such an action. Also, I would appreciate being addressed as “Reverend Charles A. Tucker”.
We are protected under the Constitution of Iowa (Article 1.Sec.#3). Also, the “Religious Freedom Restoration Act of 1993”, as well as the “Universal Declaration of Human Rights ”Article 1 . Which clearly states our religious rights and freedoms as follows:
"Everyone has the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion; this right includes freedom to change his religion or belief, and freedom, either alone or in community with others and in public or private, to manifest his religion or belief in teaching, practice, worship and observance".
On this overwhelming evidence, I pray for exemption in this case.
Thank you for respecting my religious, civil, and human rights in this case.
Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
Sincerely;
Reverend Charles Tucker
"THE RESULT":
The treatment program has been requested to be delayed, until the case that led up to the incident is resolved. "i got them to stop trying to create some kind of "case" against me, before i go to court on valenteins day. Therefore, i will continue to obey our mandate to use cannabis as part of my religious beliefs & practices. after all, it is my Right; right"?!
I would have copy & pasted their letter to the court, but they stamped it with a confidentuality notice, which would get me into hot water if i disclosed the info, under Fed. Law. "so the words have been changed to protect the innocent". hee hee hee. This is not by all means the end, it is just the begining. a small but victorious claim.
A small but yet, a giant step in the right direction for us all.
Thank You For Listening & God Bless!!! _________________ Rev. Charles A. Tucker

Hello again;
I must correct a typo error: under the "Universal Declaration of Human Rights"..... its not "article 1(smileyface)".... its "article 18". lol, i have no idea how that little bugger got in that post?? but i feel its my responsibility to correct myself, when correction is due. Thank You.

Superb application of the law Brother Charles and Roger!
On another note: The mystery behind your article 1 and article 18 is not such the mystery after all. I've seen this little glitch before. When a right hand parenthesi is placed directly after the number 8 it creates the type symbol for the cool smiley face, hence, producing such inadvertently. Try it out ... _________________ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Rev. Charles is tearin' 'em up, ain't he...?!!!!
We'd all be wise to copy and paste those letters to our files for use as a template.

Thank You Brothers & Sisters;
Please do copy & paste that letter,and use it. It worked for
Rev. Wildflower & Myself, and was met without resistance. A true blessing! I just sat down & typed it up, having the whole church in mind.
I really hope it brings others their own "small victory", as it has two of us here.
I also believe it would work well with employers, with little modification.
I am flattered to hear of it being used as a template.
To a writter, musican, & lyricist...this is a great compliment, and I Thank You. To "All" that offer me encouraging words..."Bless You". _________________ Rev. Charles A. Tucker

Greetings all;
UPDATE: Since we claim exemption fron drug testing due to our religious beliefs & practices Tthe state has furthered to violated out rights.
They are attempting to place our children on a ChINA (child in need of assistance) recomondation.which means we basically, dont care for the children,and children will be removed from the home.( one child already has been removed) This is wrong! The Social Worker said to us herself that, she has "no doubt that we care for out children properly". If so, whats the manner of the c.h.i.n.a. petition? "I guess i'll make her repeat it in court, huh"?
But a word of warning, once the state(no matter what state)vilolates your rights, they will keep on trying to do so.
We have a Big fight on our hands here folks, I ask You Tp Pray For the situation,and that we Prevail in this case!
Thank You Brothers & sisters.
Sincerely;
Rev. Charles Tucker. _________________ Rev. Charles A. Tucker
